And it was a 3.1 from University of Chicago, which is an academically rigorous university. The entire school population are on the "nerd/brainiac" spectrum, so it's not like it was a 3.1 at a party school.

Her brother is a dick, for sure, but his views weren't shaped in undergrad. Isn't Kaling very conservative as well?

She says she's not a Republican, although that doesn't really mean she doesn't have conservative views.

I don't know about politically, but she seems conservative socially. I've always been really put off reading interviews with her because she is so incredibly judgmental of other people.

Her most recent not-so-cute moment that she was trying to play off as cute involved a spur of the moment kissing of actor Lee Pace on set, who did not seem amused by the gesture. When her producers told her not to do that, because they could get sued, she told Pace not to tell, or else he would get fired.

Yikes! That makes her commercials for whatever ('for years, Mindy Kaling thought she was invisible!') seem creepy and lecherous.

I honestly think season 1 Mindy Lahiri is a lot closer to whom Kaling really is. That was the season where when Mindy wanted things to go her way in the office she would say "as a woman of color..." and Danny/other doctors would scoff and the punch line would be the fact that Mindy pulled "the race/gender card". She's a talented person but that doesn't preclude her from being an asshole.
