Amazing movie and I loved it! Andy Serkis and all the other actors portraying the apes did fantastic jobs but Andy was such a standout for me. This is definitely Caesar's movie and it was an edge of the seat thriller for me that I can't recommend enough. CGI was incredible.

I loved it too, it's one of those rare sequels that's better than the first movie. And as an X-Files fan I find it so weird and yet cool that Mrs. Peacock played Maurice.

Is it possible for Andy Serkis to get an Oscar nom? Other actors have been altered via prosthetics and CGI and been nominated. Wasn't Brad Pitt nominated for Benjamin Button? I suppose he did spend a good part of the movie as himself, but still. If an actor was in an ape suit, could they be nominated? If so, then why not in a Tech version of an ape suit?
Serkis is acting, creating a believable character, and doing a magnificent job. That's what a nom should be about.

Well considering that the Academy still refuses to add a category for stunt work (something both the SAG Awards AND the Emmys have now,) I seriously doubt they'll ever make an allowance for Serkis or anyone else who does motion-capture performances. We can hope though.

He won't get it because of the Academy's prejudices but Andy Serkis hands down deserves a Best Actor nomination. He was phenomenal in this movie.

I was so excited to see Serkis get first billing. Caesar was everything! Motion capture has come so far (go Weta!). Although I really enjoyed this, I liked the twist of the former movie better. This was still a great sequel. Very dark but cool, I have a crush on the male lead.
Is Maurice the big reddish one? I always wanna give him a hug.
Was Koba in the previous movie? I know the backstory, just bad on names.

Maurice is the big red one (a Bornean orangutan to be precise) and Koba was in the first movie. Rocket and Cornelia were too.

Random question: I loved the one with Franco, but I'm ridiculously wimpy about sad animal scenes (like, hated seeing Caesar duped by the evil scientist into cage life, however brief). Are there scenes like that in this one? I'll probably still go, I just want to be prepared. Thanks!
