Chris is apparently quite religious, would that explain how he treated pets?

I wrote him off when he said with a straight face that he wants Hollywood to tell more stories about the "average, blue collar Americans", like 99% of the movies released since 1920 haven't been.

On why he won't take pics with fans. Half of me gets it. The other half makes me go- shut the eff up. Brag about it later? Yah. That's what fans do. They meet someone they admire and enjoy and they are excited. IKR? We have a thread on this very forum dedicated to celebrity sightings. Chris would do well to remember that these so-called braggarts* pay his salary by purchasing movie tickets. *I'm not referring to those who cross personal boundaries like trying to take pictures in a restroom or take pics of his minor son after being asked not to.

Chris is apparently quite religious, would that explain how he treated pets? Maybe- ultimately I don't care. "Oh, he's religious, thus he treats his pets like shit." Still an ass in my book.

Chris is apparently quite religious, would that explain how he treated pets? Not trying to be obtuse, but can you please explain what you mean by this? I practice my faith, and my pets are among the most spoiled, loved creatures on the planet. My sister said she wants to come back as my cat in her next life. Didn't realize there was a correlation between being religious and mistreating pets. FTR, he & his wife are horrible for what they did to those poor pets TIA!

There are some Christians who wholeheartedly believe that humans are superior to animals and that it's important to maintain that distinction. From Christianity Today:
As usual when it comes to the Bible, it's all about interpretation. Evangelicals tend to believe in the above interpretation and, from the way Chris Pratt describes his faith, it sounds like he is a born again Christian.

I remember reading that when he became friends with Anna Faris (who was married at the time so they were just friends first) he told her all about his pornography collection and all of the sexual adventures he'd been having as a single guy in LA. And that was circa 2006, so I don't know just how strict he is about the whole born again thing.
That anecdote sounds a lot like those stories you hear from Scientologists who talk about somebody giving them a copy of Dianetics and that's how they went on to achieve the greatness for which they were destined.

Yeah, it doesn't quite all add up. It's possible conservative and christian media have exaggerated things. I checked out the outtakes for Parks and Rec where Chris Pratt made a joke about Kim K.'s sex tape and, well, that wasn't a very Christian thing for him to say.

Thanks highondegrassi! I have never heard of the superiority of humans over animals in a religious connotation other than the creation story, but in my interpretation that just means that humans have a responsibility to other living things. To me, a living creature is a living creature, except maybe lizards, posssums, rats, and flying cockroaches!! But I'm far from evangelical and am not born again, so there's that.
