OK I really just want to discuss the Serial podcast but I didn't know where else to post, and this subforum seemed to have more general topics.
Is anyone else tuning in? I love this format, and I feel very excited about having to tune in every week. It's also very strange to NOT have preconceived notions about someone because I don't know what anyone looks like (except Adnan).

I've heard about this Serial podcast and been meaning to listen. Thanks for reminding me! I'll be back once I've checked it out.

OMG, when I saw this I made a mental reminder to start listening to Serial, before I even opened to read! Okay starting tonight or tomorrow, then popping back in. I have friends who listen and they are beyond obsessed, so I know it must be awesome.

@madefortv and nemmie - Can't wait! I am an episode behind, and I'm actually 'saving' it to listen to during my probably horrible work week as my bright spot of the week.

This sounds really cool. I'll have to take it up soon. Thanks for the heads-up.

That does sound cool. I've maxed out on comedy podcasts (even my favorite Australian comedy podcasts have started to become repetitive beyond belief). John Oliver's stellar work on HBO is trumping his Bugle podcast. Stuff You Missed in History Class isn't what it used to be. I'm excited to get into something different.

This is going to have REALLY limited appeal but I recommend The Jim Cornette Experience. He's a Southern fried ex-professional wrestling manager from 80's and 90's who worked with just about everyone around. The man is a cranky, explosive, obscene, obsessive maniac with a thick Kentucky accent and the most hilarious ability to rant that I've ever heard. The kicker is that he's a (very) vocal liberal who worships George Carlin and Bill Maher. He'll just about give himself a stroke defending Obama while screaming about how obviously insane the conservative right wing has gotten. Kind of like if James Carville decided to quit smoking cold turkey and began drinking Red Bull by the gallon. If I could choose to see anyone go at it with O'Reilly, it would be Jim Cornette. Or "Corny" as he's affectionately known to his fans, a.k.a. The Cult of Cornette. So definitely not for everyone but if you "get" him, you "GET" him. I urge you to give him a chance.

Anyone else have any great podcasts they'd recommend?

I'm obsessed with Serial and just got my brother-in-law to start listening to it. I've also been listening to select Nerdist podcasts because they're almost always entertaining.

I've been saving the Serial podcast for some unknown reason. Today seems like a good day to start.
I still love the Stuff You Missed in History Class, but I prefer Stuff Mom Never Told You. There's also Stuff You Should Know, but I don't listen to that as much. I like Tank Riot sometimes, but they've had some episodes where I listened for about 20 minutes and couldn't deal because they missed the point of the topic (IMO).
