She's alive dammit! First, I love the theme song! [Sidebar, but shows need theme songs again.] I felt overall the season was uneven, but I would still recommend it for people who were 30 Rock fans, and who are missing its absurdest humor. What I didn't like: 1. Not a fan of the landlady. She had a few okay scenes, but the show needed of lot less of her. 2. I didn't like the constant need for Kimmy to have a love interest. I was okay with her exploring her relationship with Buckley's tutor, but after the butt dial mishap he completely disappeared. I actually preferred them to her dalliances with Dong and Daddy's Boy. 3. Absolutely hated Kimmy's step-dad. He completely derailed any scene he was in. What I liked: 1. Ellie Kemper's portrayal. She had to carry the show and she did. 2. Jane K. playing another version of Jenna from 30 Rock, but that's okay, because I loved Jenna. 3. John Hamm as the cult leader. Seriously, this man is ridiculously funny. He should do more comedy. 4. Cindy and her gay crush/fiance. What I loved: 1. Titus Andromedon. 2. Titus singing. Anything. But especially Pinot Noir. 3. Titus walking, singing, acting, lying, crying, breathing. And giving side-eyes. Next season, more Titus.

I love that he told her he turned gay from watching Magic Mike during a lightning storm.
And Titus is awesome. Tom & Lorenzo reviewed the show, and they pointed out that Titus isn't just Kimmy's sassy gay friend whose whole world revolves around her. He's got his own thing going on, and most of the time he can barely work up any interest in Kimmy's latest drama.
And I like that one of her love interests is Asian. Seems you don't see that too often.
I actually like Carol Kane as the shady landlady. "You guys got any flour? Some white kids want to buy cocaine."

The only complaint I have against this show is that I have had that damn theme song stuck in my head for days.

But females are strong as hell! ;-)
I watched this last weekend and really enjoyed it. Could have done without the romantic subplots because Kimmy sure has more than enough to deal with. But the whole Daddy's Boy thing was totally worth it. I love Titus, obviously. I was afraid I'd grow sick of him but luckily they didn't make him Kimmy's sassy sidekick but a character who had other interests, too.

Honestly, I watched the first few episodes and stopped, I think the premise is great but it wasn't the comedic tour de force I thought it would be. I might watch the rest of it since it takes so little time, but I wasn't bowled over by what I've seen thus far.

I think the later episodes (Tristophe!) are hilarious, the first few they're building Kimmy's world up so they were enjoyable, but not in a laugh out loud sort of way. Ellie Kemper is amazing as Kimmy, and I like Carol Kane as the landlady just sort of strolling in and saying stuff...then walking away again.
Favorite Moments; Daddy's Boy and Robert Osborne's response to it. The theme song. Kimmy's stepdad getting stuck in the tree (so I've loved the actor who plays her stepdad ever since his turn as Delmar in Oh Brother Where Art'Thou?) The "other" group activity that Jacqueline took Kimmy to.

I have to say, I was very impressed by Ellie Kemper in this. I'd only seen her in Bridesmaids and 21 Jump Street before this (not a fan of The Office) so I didn't really have a good idea of how talented she is. She's totally nailed the kind of speech and mannerisms common among teenage girls in the late 90s. I'm tickled by how much she says "Doy!" I said that all the freaking time back in the day.
ETA: Jon Hamm was her acting teacher in high school. Whoa.
