I've already binged the season. I watched while working from home on Friday, so I think I need to watch again. It didn't feel as strong as last season, but it was still enjoyable. And I may have laughed a little too hard at the Teddy Ruxpin that screams "WHITE LADY." I missed that! I binged while working from home too! "Boobs in California" is stuck in my head now. Teddy Ruxpin is just a little throw away joke at the beginning of the 9th episode (the one where Kimmy goes to church), but it still cracked me up. I've also been going around singing "Boobs in California." I can see why it's so popular at Mikey's gym.

I enjoyed season 3 but I also felt a bit underwhelmed by it, I think it's the weakest season so far.
Having said that, Boobs in California was totally awesome. And Judah Friedlander's current appearance was a bit shocking. I had no idea it was him until he spoke, it was weird. I think it's the first time I've ever seen him without a trucker hat on.

Boobs in California is my jam. Mostly because I can't get it out of my head no matter what I try to distract myself with.

This was the weakest season of the three. Still lots of laughs, but I was not very invested in the character arcs this season, especially Kimmy and Jacqueline. They just can't make her Native American passing as a rich white socialite story funny to me, even though I love the actors who play her parents. I thought Lillian's love story was sweet, and Titus's lemonading and California Boobs plots were great. Kimmy was ...eh. I am always here for Daveed Diggs, but his character on Blackish is way funnier than what he had to work with here. I may enjoy the season more upon rewatch.

Did anyone catch the first six episodes of season 4? I am not surprised they are pulling the plug on this show, the quality has decreased dramatically.
Why did they make the Mikey character so unbelievably stupid? He was always kind of lovably dumb, but the Greg Kinnear plot was beyond ridiculous. Give Titus a job, any job!
It's obvious they don't know what to do with Jacqueline so they just keep finding these random plots for her. Now she is the worst agent ever. At least it's not a Native American plot this time.
Lillian is still a hoot, but the plot of her being custodian of Busy Phillip's money sounds like a premise for an entire spin off that I do not want to watch. I did laugh that Lillian didn't bother telling Artie's family about his death on their Scandinavia trip, because that's exactly in character for her.
Kimmy - eh. She's always been my least favorite character.
I didn't even watch the full "documentary" episode.

I feel like I need to go back and rewatch the episodes we had this season, because they didn't hold my attention (which isn't great, as I love this show).
I always felt like it could only run 4-5 seasons because it was a premise that couldn't last very long. I mean, it's obvious that Titus is very talented, and the problem is just him standing in his own way. That can only last for so long. He has to start succeeding, and when he does, the show ends because there's no reason for him to continue living in a basement apartment with Kimmy. Kimmy also needs to start succeeding at some point, too. And both are starting to do that (Titus is getting work now - not great work, but it's work. And Kimmy has a real job now with a real salary), so it feels like ramping up towards the end here.
And yeah - I don't know why they made Mikey dumb. He was just about perfect in season two, but he got kinda dumb at the end of last season and I'm not sure why they did that. But the scene at the end of the first episode where you see something mysterious happening with that puppet who tried to get Titus into a three-way and a suitcase full of money, I swear the arm of the mystery man looked a lot like Mikey's leather jacket. I wonder if they are going to do something there (hey - Mikey's grandmother is a puppet, he's already connected to that world...).
The documentary was pretty funny - and worth seeing the old footage of '90s Jon Hamm on a dating show. And I did appreciate how mad Kimmy got at Titus for not realizing that he was clearly playing her in a documentary and Titus's "When they let you keep the wigs you don't ask a lot of questions!" excuse.

I haven't watched this show. Is it good? I guess it depends on where your sense of humor lies. If you liked 30 Rock or Arrested Development, you'll probably like this too.

I watched the final six episodes, and there was definitely an uptick in quality in this last bunch. Some things felt a little rushed to tie up some story lines, but overall very satisfying and someone says something to Kimmy in the final episode that made me a little misty-eyed. One episode is a riff on “Sliding Doors” which prompted this line from Titus: “I know what door you’re sliding through, Gwyneth! Nepotism!” I always knew Titus would fit in here. And from this day forward, this will always be known as the “Two Butts By Jane Seymour” necklace.
