But most of the models who successfully transition weren't that big/known as models first. Remember Cindy Crawford and Fair Game? Yes, yes she was. I remember Cameron Diaz and Tyra Banks from Seventeen magazine. We know how Cameron's movie career blew up (went on the rise). As for Tyra...

To be fair, Cameron will probably be able to retire quite comfortably on the residuals from the Shrek movies alone.

Jamie King and Elizabeth Hurley were big deals before they became actresses. Sybil Shepard and Candice Bergen were successful working models before they became primarily actresses. PLL's Shay Mitchell started as a model. Uma Thurman was a model. Ashton Kutcher was a successful model. So was Jenny McCarthy. Marylin Monroe. There are so many examples...
We don't really have supermodels like we used to, but quite a few of the more popular models these days mix acting with modeling, so it's not that unusual to transition. Lot's of male models do too. You're career is dunzo by 30, so you have to get something else lined up...

I meant big models as in having major name recognition like Cindy, Gisele, etc - that level. Sure, a lot of famous actresses were models prior to acting but they weren't massively famous as models.

Yeah, I hear you. I don't know that any '90s old-school supermodels made the jump, but Jamie King was a major "heroin chic" model and she's an actress now. Elizabeth Hurley had modeling campaigns before she got into movies and TV gigs. Rebecca Romijn is another well-known model that has done lots of TV and movies. Brooke Shields. Milla Jovovich made the jump. They're out there. I'm not saying Cara is a given, but there are a bunch of others about at her level of fame who made the transition.

I think she's super beautiful. I was sad to hear that she and St. Vincent have split up, they were a cute couple.

Despite her ubiquitousness, I guess I didn't realize until I watched part of "THAT interview," as The Mirror insists on calling it, that she was British. Though, given that her accent sounds exactly the same as Lindsay Lohan's fake British accent, I suppose it's possible she's faking it too. My point, I don't really have one, but if I did it would be this: she's everywhere but I've never heard her speak. FASCINATING, I KNOW.

I had no idea she was British, either. Normally I would end a post like this with "hmm, interesting" but I am not especially interested. It's like discovering a red candy is strawberry flavored instead of cherry.
