Took my mini-me to see it today....Gah! Rivals the opening sequence of Up in the sadness factor, especially when SPOILER Bing Bong (voiced by Richard Kind) sacrifices himself for Amy Poehler's Joy and he stays gone--no tag during the credits, nada! Definitely different from most "kids'" movies, though not bad.

Um, yes I saw it too, and I totally (spoiler ahead) {Spoiler}Spoiler cried like a major dork when Bing Bong went 'poof'. Especially considering my 5-year-old was nestled in my lap at the time, holding onto his stuffed kitty best friend Momo (who has been his trusty companion since he was a baby). Momo is even in my avatar, people, he's family! It's like killing off Hobbs from Calvin and Hobbs!
I enjoyed it. It was no Up (which I consider my Top Pixar film and the standard to which I judge all of 'em), but it definitely got me hard in the Feels a few times and was really enjoyable. And it has a great message! My son has anxiety disorder and we're always working through emotions, so it was an awesome movie to see with him, it really touched him and he talked about it all evening.

nemmie, nice to hear that the movie was a dialogue starter for your son and something the he works hard at everyday, something we all work hard at really, our emotions.

Great movie with an awesome message about growing up, the things we learn and remember, and the things we forget.
My inner Anger was certainly getting riled up though by all the annoying kids in the theatre.
I totally want to see the sequel, Puberty.

Would it be appropriate for a 4.5 year old? Sk1 sometimes has problems expressing himself and gets frustrated.

MMS took our girls to see it today, and all three loved it. My Lyssa just turned five and and couldn't stop talking about it when they got home, so I think your kiddo would like it too, Smitten.

I took my daughter's kids (ages 6 and 8) yesterday and we all enjoyed it. This despite the fact that we had to sit on the front row. They didn't mind but I have a crick in my neck. A few things went over their heads, but not so it ruined the movie.

Saw yesterday and really liked it. Some of Pixar's best voice casting, but I missed John Ratzenberger's voice (he was "Fritz," who was that?)

I think Ratzenberger was the voice of the construction worker that put together the new console.
I loved it, and it was nice to see a movie without really scary parts. My kids are really sensitive to villains and death, so they loved it and I didn't have to worry about leaving halfway through.
