That would be my guess. She was also rumored to be an alcoholic. Brought on by boredom of life in the palace.

I always thought of Caroline (and now her daughter Charlotte) as attractive in a a European kind of way -- beautiful/handsome rather than conventionally pretty. I think it's partly the strong brows -- I feel the same way about Katarina Witt. Pretty to me is a softer look. |

I don't think Stephanie was ever pretty. Seems like she's only considered pretty because she's famous. If she were a non-famous person I think people would be commenting on how much she looked like a man. Maybe Stephanie is considered "sexy" because I suppose she carries herself with some confidence but if I were to glance at her without knowing anything about her I would think she was bad-looking, at least for a famous person anyway. If she were a regular person I wouldn't have a reaction. I just wouldn't think she's pretty is all.
I don't think Caroline is very pretty either though she's prettier and more feminine looking than Stephanie. Maybe Caroline was quite pretty when she was young (she has a strong look which I think could be attractive to others) but she's always looked kind of old. Perhaps now she looks the age she was always meant to be.
And the brother, of course, is terribly unattractive. I think Prince Charles as a young man was better looking.
Caroline's daughter did turn out quite attractive but I think that's because she inherited some softness from her father.
Though Grace was pretty, I think her kids were not very attractive at all.

I think for a time Stephanie was considered 'in' because she had an androgynous look that was somewhat popular in the eighties.
It is irritating that just because she's Princess Grace's daughter she and her sister and their children are automatically considered gorgeous.

I don't find Stephanie the least bit attractive. To me, Caroline and her kids are gorgeous -- doesn't matter who Caroline's mother was.
