He may also be subjected to civil lawsuits and this could protect her assets. True. But she's requesting spousal support and they didn't have a prenup. She might want to figure out a way to secure things better before the suits start to come in. The financial reasons make a lot of sense and would be smart. But I also can't help but wonder if something in that trial changed her mind about his guilt or innocence. It will be interesting to see what happens there. |

They have a child, yes? It may be she wants to protect and provide for him or her. Bijou's father was John Phillips of the Mamas and the Papas (so she is Mackenzie Phillips' half sister) and she was born and raised at a time both her parents were drug-addicted messes. Her mother eventually OD'd. I can see her scrabbling at stability. I know she's a clam but I feel sorry for the woman.
