I liked it very much too and TTMR got teary-eyed. I had so much empathy for Johnson having to run 40 minutes every time she wanted to go to the bathroom. I especially liked Mary Jackson's interaction with the judge. "Of all the cases you have here today, which one are people going to remember?"
On a shallow note, the actor who played John Glenn was very handsome. I looked him up and discovered that he was born the October of my freshman year in college. I feel so dirty.

On a shallow note, the actor who played John Glenn was very handsome. I've had my eye on him since I saw Everybody Wants Some. He also resembles a guy I worked when I was a teenager.

I liked how the ladies were ogling John Glen. He was handsome.
We noticed the no smoking thing too. I'm sure they left it out so they could get a PG rating. I'm glad because I hope lots of kids see this movie.

ITA on the actor who played Glenn, he definitely had that "it" factor. Plus he was playing a real-life American hero. Cue heart eyes.

I'd really like to know more about the scene on the tarmac where Glenn purposefully steps over to the calculators. I assume it was a dramatic flourish, but I hope it's not.

The "fact or fiction" story that I read said that the astronauts didn't pay a lot of attention to the computer women. It was more of a one-sided admiration society. Also note that there were actually about 300 of them, not the two dozen portrayed in the show, which could be why the astronauts didn't pay individual attention to them.

In the special on HBO they said Glenn did make a statement about being good to go if Katherine checks the numbers and calling her the "smart one". The writers wanted to make sure to include that (although I'm not sure it was verbatim).
I loved the movie and even though there was some Disney-ish gloss it wasn't too overdone. I'm OK with it if the feel-good aspect gets more people to see it.

Yeah, he said he wanted "the girl" to check the numbers. She was in her 40s. So one small step for womanhood... or girlhood, I guess.

That's Glen Powell playing John Glenn, and yes, he's very handsome (.GIF not quite Safe For Work!). He is easily the standout on the obnoxious but entertaining Scream Queens. In the 2nd Season, he has a very funny homoerotic shower scene with John Stamos, wearing less than a bath towel. For the hirsute record, he is furry, but it's a blond furry, so hard to see.

Just got back. DO NOT MISS THIS MOVIE!! When Kevin Costner took care of the break issue, the audience burst into applause!
