Since we have a thread for the unnecessary, I thought I'd try one for the film remakes and reboots that might have a shot at Greecie audience attendance. Could apply to TV concepts you think could succeed on the big screen.
As for me, just lately, I've been wondering if there isn't room for some remakes of the Brat Pack classics. I'd love to see a modern day version of Pretty in Pink come our way.

I will go way sacriligous.
The French could perhaps redo The Umbrellas of Cherbourg. A LGBTQ version.
The Brits could redo Harry Potter in 10 years. As they will know the story from start to end, the series could be significantly different.
The Americans can redo Tootsie, but in a reality tv setting.

Oh yeah, I think a future remake of Harry Potter could be great (and necessary). Bless the ones we currently have, but there were asome mistakes that a remake could learn from...
Here is a weird one - I wish the new Star Trek movies had done something with the material of Star Trek V (the "why does God need a starship?" one) instead of going back to the Khan well. It was a pretty bad movie so maybe not a straight-up remake, but they definitely should've used the character of Spock's half-brother, who was a conceptually interesting antagonist and was pretty well-acted.

Wow. I haven't thought about ST V in years. It's my least favorite of the Old Trek films, and I've blacked out much of it from my brain. So, interesting thought, Mutagen. Untapped potential.
I would love an "extra" Harry Potter movie, but more like a continuation of the completed series than a remake. I still feel deprived of my Draco Malfoy redemption arc, which is something that if it showed up in a future film would actually see me shucking out money to enjoy it.

I'm down with any remake that retells the story with diverse casts, better women representation, etc. I'd love it if my (potential future) kids grew up with a different set of classics!

I wouldn't mind seeing The Beguiled. It seems like the 1860s version of Misery. A bunch of sexual repressed women in a boarding school during the Civil War just hanging out and then Colin Farrell shows up. Cool.

We're seeing that soon. 1860s version of Misery--Ha! I love that.

I would like to see a comedy remake of Home Alone in one of those tiny houses on wheels. It would be a very short film.

It sounds like a plot for a porn movie to be honest. Please report back on if it's good. The cast can certainly act so that's in its favor.
