Is anyone watching this? I'm looking forward to Season 4 but keep thinking, "this won't end well."

I LOVE this show. Who would have thought that a show about an anthropomorphic horse who is also a washed-up sitcom star would have so much to say about stuff like depression and identity.
Or that a character (who is married and financially stable) could have an abortion and it just happens? Or that another character can be asexual? And all this happening in between animal puns.
The seasons always seem to end on the possibility of Bojack learning something and being better, but he usually effs it up, so I assume he will again in season four.
I don't know how they could justify it, but I hope there is some way they can bring back Vincent Adultman. I love that kid(s).

One of my favorite shows as you can see from my avatar. I can relate to Diane a little too well. I can't wait for the next season. I'm guessing his possible daughter will play a big part of next season. Hopefully it will go better than his relationship with his TV daughter.
I know the Emmys don't really mean much, but I wish it had gotten a nod for best animated show. That underwater episode alone had some of the most beautiful animation I had seen that year. Kristen Schaal did get a nomination for voice-over and she was great on the show but it is weird that none of the main actors got anything. And Schaal really should have gotten it for Bob's Burgers instead.

I adore this show. It's funny and heartbreaking and sweet.

One of the best depictions of depression I've seen in any medium.
The scenes with BoJack's mother are particularly heart-breaking.

I love this show. I stumbled on season 1 shortly after it was released, I'd never heard of it and only started watching it because I figured Will Arnett as a talking horse might be fun. And to this day it is the only time I ever binge-watched an entire season of a show in one day.
The scene that has stuck with me the most is when BoJack, being totally sincere, asks Diane if he's a good person and she says nothing. Props to the animators for that scene because the emotion was so-well done on both character's faces.

Totally. He so needed her to say yes, and she ... just couldn't do it.
I also loved a flashback scene with Sarah-Lynn, post concert. Bojack shows up, and she's happy to see him, because she's thinking "Finally - someone who's a genuine friend and doesn't just want something from me because I'm famous." Annnnd ... he's just there to ask a favour because she's famous.

Oh man, Sarah-Lynn's whole arc was just so tragic. It's the only performance by Kristen Schaal that doesn't annoy the hell out of me. I'm actually glad she's nominated for an Emmy, and I never thought I'd say that.

I binge watched season 4 this weekend. It was not as devastating as season 3 although it did have its moments. Princess Carolyn's episode was brutal. Same with all the flashbacks to BoJack's family. I liked everything with Hollyhock and Bojack's mom. I liked that BoJack is starting to be a better person but only in very little increments. I didn't really care much for Mr. Peanutbutter or Diane's storyline. It just feels like it is the same conflict over and over. Although I did like Andre Braugher as the woodchuck. And Jessica Biel continues to have a good sense of humor about herself. I'll probably watch it again but slower this time. It is so visually dense I am sure I missed a lot of the jokes.

I could basically co-sign all of this. The stuff with BoJack's grandmother was really heartbreaking and a little too close to reality (it seems lobotomies were more for the people around the person with depression or whatever so they won't have to deal with them). And poor Princess Carolyn. I hope something works out for her soon (was it just me, or did the kid passed out in the dentist's chair kinda look like Vincent Adultman? Or maybe I just miss him). I agree about Mr. Peanutbutter and Diane, but that looks like it might finally change. Todd and BoJack had a nice moment or two, but they need to learn how to appreciate that guy. He's a dope, but he's kind-hearted and bends over backwards for all of them.
