I searched for a thread, but couldn't find one (which seems impossible, but there you have it). Anyway, she just announced via her Twitter that she has breast cancer:

“1 in 8 women get breast cancer. Today I’m the one. The good news is that I have the most glorious group of supportive and caring family and friends, and fantastic insurance through my union. The bad news is that not all women are so lucky, so let's fight all cancers and make universal health care a reality.”

I whole heartedly agree. She's had a rough year or so, with her father dying as well. I love that she's still married to her sweetheart and she is so insanely talented. Speedy recovery.

Her statement was really lovely (as much as a statement announcing a cancer diagnosis can be anyway) and I very much hope hers was caught early.
