It's really really good. that ending is powerful: I was terrified when I saw her name up top. I thought that she might have harmed herself due to the harassment.  Thank goodness. She really didn't deserve what happened to her. Neither did John Boyega. Or Millie Bobbie Brown. People can be disgusting. There should be some type of real world consequence for racists and mouth breathers that think they're being clever or funny online. |

I felt so bad for her when the trolls went after her, because she really seems thrilled to be part of Star Wars. I'm glad she's pushing back with that gorgeous op-ed.
Also - she was the first Asian woman on the cover of Vanity Fair?! Not that she doesn't deserve it, it's more shocking that someone else who has been around a little while, like Michelle Yeoh or someone like that, didn't beat her to it. Great illustration of how much work there is left to do.

Wait... is she pregnant? The head on pics, and her hand placement, had me assuming. The sideview though... hmmm. She looks beautiful either way

I don't think I really get the huge flounce thing--it's too awkward to be dramatic and too ugly to...well, just too ugly. A simple black column gown with that same neckline detail would have been much better.

I didn't like the huge flounce thing either, but it wasn't too bad I guess like Kristin Wiig or Saoirse Ronan's gowns. I'm just so happy that there were so many delightful reaction shots from her last, and that on Twitter there were so many jokes about how the Oscars gave her more lines than JJ Abrams did in The Rise of Skywalker. I just hope that she's actually able to find a lot of success and really make Abrams and company look bad for reducing Rose's role so much, but unfortunately I know that it's going to be difficult to do in the industry. |
