It's sort of Glee: Redux. Starring Ted Moseby, Moana, and The Guy Who Looks Like That Guy From "Camp". It had me at the "Grease" rejection. I like it so far, despite its cheese-o-rama factor. Not just because it has inspired me to learn about Spring Awakening, with which I am not overly familiar.
Other thoughts?

I love Spring Awakening, but can't believe a school would actually let them put on that show - it's got a sex scene, a song about sexual abuse and a song titled "totally f*cked" (now I need to go listen to the soundtrack again).

It's Jason Katims, who created Parenthood and Friday Night Lights, so it's definitely on my "To Check Out" list. I'm also not familiar with Spring Awakening at all, other than it won awards.

I like it so far. I saw Spring Awakening on the first national tour, and it's definitely not appropriate for most high schools. I like Josh Radnor as an actor, so while his character is kind of annoying and does stupid stuff, he doesn't bother me in the role.
