We watched the Luke episode last night. The floating guy was creepy.

Just finished episode 10. WT-ever-loving-F. Please tell me what part of the novel or the film (the good Julie Harris one, not the bad Owen Wilson one) led the producers to believe that the end of the story should be an emotional victory? Mr. Dan Gling Floating-Feet was much less frightening once he had a face. Giggled at the Stephen King reference, though. More fun: IMDB has a video with all the ghosts you might have missed.

The hidden ghosts were the scariest and most exciting part of the series for me. There were SO MANY I missed that it gave me the creeps thinking of all those ghosts looking back at me from these scenes that I had watched with no idea they were there-- I was haunted just like the characters, basically. Spooky.

I'm trying to figure out where I've seen the actor who plays young Steven before. I checked his IMDB and he's not listed in anything else I've seen, so maybe a commercial? It's been bugging me ever since I started watching.

I thought he looked familiar, too. I was getting very vague deja vu from flashback Hugh Crain until I found out he was Elliott in E.T.
Fun fact: the exterior for Hill House in the Julie Harris version is actually the "most haunted" hotel in Britain.

I finished up the series last week and I really enjoyed it! Unpopular opinion: I'm fine with the ending. I think it helps I rather quickly stopped viewing this a horror series. I saw it as a family drama that just happened to have horror in it. Plus, the creator has confirmed the Crain family story is done and if there is a second season it won't focus on them. So yeah, why not give them closure?
But I also don't view the ending as a purely happy ending (though I get why some do). From my view, the house still won. It still stands and will continue to collect souls. Some, as Mrs. Dudley demonstrated, will do so willing. The Crains lost 3 family members to the house. Based on Olivia's face just before the Red Room closed she isn't satisfied with merely having Hugh and Nell. She will eventually return for the rest of the family.
Finally, the car jump in episode 8 made me scream and nearly throw my kindle across the room.

We watched the Nell episode last night, and OMG, I was sobbing. Her sweet husband! The actors had amazing chemistry. It felt like no one ever listened to her, believed her, or took her pain seriously (except Arthur). Her suicide could be possible even without the supernatural stuff attached to it. She was at a breaking point, reaching out to everyone, and the siblings were just too self-absorbed to be there for her. And the reveal of who the Bent Neck Lady was will haunt me forever! That poor child! We're halfway into the next episode. This show is so good.
