Yes, Prince said "sexy never left" when Justin released SexyBack, and Justin made a comment about Prince's height when accepting a Golden Globe award on Prince's behalf. And supposedly, Justin's verse on the Timbaland song Give it to Me is about Prince. But some people say all of this is a long time ago and no big deal now.

I finally got around to watching it. I thought it was OK, but I'm definitely less enamored with it then my husband seems to be and a lot of people were on Facebook last night. I actually thought the Prince tribute was the best part. Prince wearing a headscarf and performing his little behind off in the pouring rain will always be my gold standard, but Bruno Mars came pretty close.

I like some of Timberlake's songs, but I can't really keep track of what's NSync and what's his early solo stuff. When he was singing Rock Your Body with those four dudes behind him, I thought that was NSync. But I wondered why Justin left them behind to get lost in a clump of female backup dancers. Then I realized it probably wasn't NSync, but that's how Justin would have treated them if they had been there, so what did it matter.

All of the remixes of his songs sucked and because he didn't do all that much singing, the crowd drowned him out most of the time.

Prince would have considered use of his image and his songs at The Super Bowl to be pure exploitation. Were he still alive, he would have his lawyers all over it. It should not be called a "tribute".

Yawn. I watched the Coldplay/Bruno Mars/Beyonce one just for fun. Beyonce's one song was better than all of JT's.
Besides Sexyback, there aren't many GREAT songs of his. I love Mirrors but it's not really a fun dance song.
I feel like he's going to do that man in crisis mode thing and blame everything on everyone else and get a divorce and really get his sexy back as a single man so he could revive his career after this.

I don't know guys.....a white, privileged man with an inflated ego and no self-awareness, who practically back-stabbed a woman of color to save his own ass and is tone-deaf enough to use the image of a black artist to support his oh-so-grand show....I'd say he perfectly fits our awful times.

I watched Bruno's Super Bowl performance yesterday, which I had never seen before, and the sheer joy and optimism of his show made me realize that 2014 feels like decades away...
