Some are born responsible, some achieve responsibility, some have responsibility thrust upon them. I think being arrested for DWI falls in the third category.

The NY Post ran an article dragging the cop who arrested him because apparently people are upset he’s just so dam good at his job and always giving out tickets! God forbid we let drunks, suspended drivers and speeders loose on the roads…

Eh she lost me when she started citing Britney's book as a reliable source. Britney is an unreliable narrator. And there are people that have spoken out that her cheating was way more than "just a kiss". It made her POV pretty slanted imo. I think Timberlake is absolutely a PAB who became famous way too young and doesn't understand how entitled and privileged his life has been. And this drunk driving incident is appalling as are the attacks on the police officer. But that doesn't make him the villain of every story or even of Britney's story.

I know Britney isn't the best source and Justin being demonized more than Jamie Spears is baffling. However, I do love the video's framing between Justin and Ryan Gosling: both Mickey Mouse Club alumni who are at very different points in their lives - Ryan a beloved pop culture figure to Justin being the arrested development case who's not famous to twenty-year olds. The YouTube video from Todd in the Shadows is even better with directly calling out the disproportionate view of Justin being the one to "ruin" Britney. Seriously, check that one out here. I'm just glad PAB is getting the karma hammer.

But I think Justin and Ryan's experiences with fame were very different once they left Disney.
By 14 Justin was in Nsync, had a massive hit a year later at 15 and was literally world famous from that point on.
Ryan kept acting but didn't have an actual hit until The Notebook and he was 24. That's a huge age/maturity difference. I would expect that fame was a lot more detrimental to Justin than to Ryan.

I thought it was an interesting framing of the two in that video. Not surprised that Justin seems needier for attention and more prone for the "too young, too fast" fame to go to his head.

I never thought any of those ex-boyband members had solid career legs. (Exception: Ricky Martin and Chayanne, and they're a different musical field.)

Harry Styles seems to be a "boyband" solo artist who's been killing it, so I would add him as another success story. I called Justin's solo career to be on shaky ground once the NSYNC reunion came into existence. Also, I hope Jessica Biel leaves him; there are pervasive rumors that he's a cheater and having zero tolerance for DUIs is a great message to send. I'm not expecting celebrities to always make morally upright decisions, but certainly not standing by someone who is outright endangering the public is a good choice.

I love me some Chayanne, and although I think he was never a great vocalist, I always felt he was the nicest, most down to earth ex-boy bander (remember Los Chicos?) of the two (Ricky and him). While Ricky has always come across as an uppity, snooty "artist with a capital A" snob, Chayanne always exuded salt-of-the-earth charm and likability.
