That was the best Punk'd. I was actually impressed that he signed a waiver for that, because he looked pretty wimpy during it.
I am confused as to why Justin gets as much crap as he does for "Boobgate". Did he ever say that he knew that she was going to be flying free when he ripped the costume? Because I find it hard to believe that he would willingly agree to that. He was riding high at the time and didn't need the contraversy or the publicity that would have followed unlike Janet who was in desperate need of hype for her new album. After it happened, he seemed to take 100% blame for the incidient in the urban community because he apologized which somehow equalled him selling Janet out. On the other hand, Janet was embraced by that community for refusing to apologize.

Why does he get crap? Because he came out of it looking like a PAB. He didn't man up. He wimped out like a little punk. He had just as much to do with it as she did, but he blames it all on her and acts like he didn't do anything at all. Hate!

I don't think he had anything to do with it. He was riding high at the time and didn't need that kind of publicity stunt.
I still don't think he should have apologized about it though. This country is so stupid when it comes to sex.

I remember reading about secret rehersal that only Janet, Justin, and the choreographer were at. I think he knew everything about it. He just didn't expect it to have the fallout it did. What about the imfamous "We just love giving y'all something to talk about." quote? He said that right after he left the stage while grinning like an idiot. The next day when people were mad is when he cried like a PAB.

Eh. I found him really annoying last year during Boobgate, but generally I am indifferent to him. His stuff is good workout material. I never saw his Punked episode, but if someone was fucking with my pet I would probably cry like a baby too...

His voice annoys the hell outta me. I can never take him seriously because he looks like a spoiled whiny brat and from what I read it seems like he is a whiny spoiled brat. Oh and I loath Cammy also.
Even though I've never been a fan of either, I thought Brit and Justin looked cute together. That's all I got.

When Justin walked off the field after The Flash, he said something like, "It was quick, slick, and to the point. We love giving y'all something to talk about." He didn't seem too shocked or appalled at the time. After another day or two of national outrage, he came up with the "wardrobe malfunction" line and then he kept apologizing so that CBS would let him perform on the Grammy telecast that year.
I still like Justified and too thought he and Brit were adorable together. I was surprised he stayed with her as long as he did, since her pretense about being a virgin way after the fact probably emasculated him to some extent. Also, there were times you could practically see the, "She is a total moron!" thought bubble forming above his head when they were interviewed together.

That, to me, is sexist because it implies that a woman is not responsible for her own actions so the men around her need to "man up" and take responsibility. Janet Jackson is a grown-ass woman, why does she need a man to take the blame for her own stunt? The notion that came out of the urban community that he should both shoulder all the blame and yet refuse to apologize at the same time to "protect her" is infantilizing Janet Jackson, who has more performing experience under her belt than he does.
Those Super Bowl shows are choreographed and gone over ever last minute detail - and quite clearly when you watch the footage that was a practiced dance move, as well as the costume being designed to fall away perfectly. Unless anyone can prove that Janet was drugged and some evil man dressed her and adorned her nipple with an ornament it was her fault for not wearing a proper bra. As a woman, I am so tired of female pop stars being able to bat their eyelashes, act weepy, and turn to the men around them to protect them - and then automatically being embraced as poor little victims when they get themselves in hot water. It's like they're little girls. Janet should've said, "Yeah, I didn't put the right bra and it came off. Sorry, but there's nothing I can do about it now and if people want to freak out at the sight of a boob then I can't do anything about that, either." Whatever happened to acting like an adult and taking repsonsilibity? But as her brother's little cult illustrates, there are a lot of people willing to fall over themselves to indulge the Jacksons' childish fantasies.

I think I'm going to agree with poorfrances. With regards to the whole Superbowl thing I really don't think it's fair to put all the blame on Justin. Janet had a hand in it as well.

But didn't Janet take all the blame while the first word out of PAB's mouth is that he doesn't need that kind of publicity because he's had a good year. Then he invented Wardrobe Malfunction.
