Seeing as I get to see US chat shows over here I thought I’d let you in on one from here.
The Tommy Tiernan Show (he plays the Dad in Derry Girls / well known comedian here)
The idea is he doesn’t know who his guests are until they come on, some are well known to him others may just work in very different worlds and have interesting tales to tell.

These two above were before Covid now there is no studio audience and it’ works even better as Tommy isn’t afraid of the silences in conversations which these are, some on the show almost feel like we are eavesdropping on private chats.The show has been given 6 additional episodes it’s been so well received.
Here’s two more well worth watching.
Brenda Fricker (Oscar winner, My Left Foot) love her at the Oscars story.
Actor Stephen Rea in which he speaks of his wife a subject he rarely has touch on before.
