Ruthie Ann Miles and her husband had a baby girl named Hope Elizabeth last month. Two years ago Ruthie lost her four year old daughter and the baby girl she was expecting and her friend lost her one year old son when they were hit by a car with a driver who ran a red light. I am so delighted for this family and wish them every happiness. |

Oh wow. I still think about what happened to Ruthie Ann Miles sometimes - absolutely senseless and horrific. The driver died by suicide some time ago as well, I believe.
I have no idea how she and her husband have managed to remotely go on, but the arrival of their new child is really heartening news.

I am so delighted for this family and with them every happiness. That’s wonderful. Out of the blue, I googled her a couple months ago and saw she was pregnant again. I’m so glad she had a healthy baby. Beautiful name too. She and her family are amazingly strong people. |

Difficult personality and former USWNT goalkeeper Hope Solo had twins in March, and their names are Vittorio Genghis and Lozen Orianna Judith. At first, I thought it was just an odd mishmash of names--Lozen seemed vaguely Tibetan, Vittorio and Orianna are both Italian. Genghis is Genghis (yikes). But I looked up Lozen, and I was wrong. Apparently, Lozen was a powerful priestess-type figure and the sister of a chief named Victorio among the Chiricahua Apache. This is really interesting--I wonder if she posted more about the names on her social media because I am now have in my possession several unasked questions. |
