I almost want to start a pool on how long until she breaks and comes back to twitter.....
I think she struggles with anxiety & depression and I’m sure the loss of Jack amplified those issues.

I used to really like Chrissy. I have both of her cookbooks and I followed her on social media for years. Maybe it has been pandemic fatigue, social media overload (I deleted my Instagram entirely early last summer), or just a change in her content (understandable given the world context and her personal loss) but I unfollowed her awhile ago. Part of it was the travel and parties in the pandemic, especially early pandemic, and part was her content.
She has always said things that were provocative; that was her appeal. (How many Buzzfeed articles are devoted to her Twitter replies?) Lately, it seemed like she posted things that she had to know would draw mixed responses - and I don't mean the raw personal content as much as the wine story or her expensive horseback riding outfit. Instead of just ignoring the negative comments, and appreciating the tons of positive ones (because she has legions of fans online), she was lashing out at the 'haters' and posting "all I want to do is make you happy and you're never happy" type of things.
It really seems like leaving social media is best for her. I wish her well.

Funny, I was just listening to an interview with her on the "True Crime Obsessed" podcast (she's a fan of the podcast and she and the hosts started communicating over social media, which ended up with her inviting them to her house where they recorded an episode). The episode was recorded a few weeks ago, and in the episode she talks about how she's starting to struggle with the negativity online. So whether or not this ends up being temporary, it at least appears to be something that's been bothering her for a little while and it wasn't one incident that set her off and she flounced.

I agree with everyone about the shift in her social media content. IMHO it's a lot more typical influencer stuff of her swanning about looking hot than she used to post. IIRC she's also had issues with maintaining sobriety. I wonder if a medical professional advised her to get off social media for the sake of her mental health, which makes perfect sense since high traffic social media is toxic to the thickest skinned. I side eye her friendship with the Kardashians but I love everything else about her. Her clapbacks could be epic and she seems very bright, in addition to being absolutely gorgeous.

I don't follow Chrissy Teigen super closely, but I've always liked some of the political tweets/clapbacks she'd send out. I also really loved this skit that she did on Amy Schumer's show back in 2014, where she played a relationship therapist. (NSFW.) If Twitter isn't making her happy anymore and she decided to leave, then good for her. The platform isn't for everyone, and I think it's great that she was able to say: "The energy in this space is affecting my mental health, so I'm going to step away." I've been thinking long and hard about deactivating my Facebook due to all the complaining and negativity in my newsfeed, so I get it.

I don't follow her at all, but when she was trending for quitting Twitter I read some of the threads and... no thank you. I found a few of her tweets really problematic.

I like her mom’s little cooking segments on YouTube. Chrissy has always been pretty open about her mental health and alcohol issues and her mom living with them maybe just isn’t about what is common in Thai families , but to be a bit of a babysitter as well. For her daughter, not the kids BTW.

I like her but am not a huge fan. It seems like she was taking a LOT of twitter replies personally, so leaving for the time being is a mental healthy choice. Good for her. Twitter can be totally toxic and if you internalize a lot of the nonsense, it's not great.

She can be funny, but her asshole tweets about Quvenzhane Wallis are always sort of in the back of my mind. I know people hate the whole, "you canceled somebody for one tweet!" thing but making fun of a 9 year old... come on.
