Well, I answered my own question.

And her date? That would be "Transamerica" director Duncan Tucker. “He’s gonna walk down the red carpet with me and that will really take the pressure off. I’m just gonna point to Duncan and say, ‘Talk to him! He’s the real talent. He wrote and directed the film and he’s getting the least attention of all of us!'”

The reason I wondered is because she tried to introduce him to Isaac Mizrahi on the red carpet and get him on camera. And Isaac totally blew him off and was on to the next person in line. E! didn't even put him on camera. She is so classy for trying to get put him in the forefront and share her camera time. And God, Isaac is such a tool because he obviously didn't know who she was walking the red carpet with.

ME!!!!! On the Porter Waggoner show, she used to hawk Breeze, and they gave away a towel in the box. I asked my mom to buy Breeze so we could get a free flowerdy towel, but no, we were a Wisk family.

I love Dolly. I saw her show last year when she came to Austin, she was fantastic. And she mentioned during the show that she tries to keep her tickets affordable because she knows her fans work hard for their money. I don't know how she has stayed so grounded, but it makes me admire her all the more for it.

We actually found some in my Gran's towel closet after she died. My Mom immediately recognized where they were from. They were very thin and cheap.

I remember those towels! There were five of us kids (much laundry) and no money, so all of our linens were from boxes of detergent. (and flatware/glasses from the gas station!) It was like drying off with cheese cloth.

Looking at the old Dolly footage...I can't believe she had hips! Were her boobs real then? Did she lipo the butt away back in the 9-5 days? She was just gorgeous then. I guess all the nipping and tucking is just to keep up.

Lord, she did look beautiful. I do wish she wasn't so thin these days, she'd look so much lovier. But she'll always be Dolly and hence awesome, so...

Count me in as one who loves her music, especially the bluegrassy stuff. She does an amazing cover of Both Sides now that breaks my heart everytime I hear it. Her voice is so effortless and emoitive. I really think she's undervalued as a vocalist.

I also wish more people realised that she's up there with the very best of the songwriters. "Just because I'm a woman" is yet to be matched in 'feminist protest' songs, Imo. And, literally, thousands of other wonderful songs.

For some reason I felt really sad seeing her on stage at the Oscars. It's like seeing someone who is anorexic (maybe more than "like"). She must have some pretty serious body image issues. I ADORE her personality, but the woman's got to be pretty messed up to subject herself to that much plastic surgery.
