Okay, now that I've calmed down, that's great of Dolly Parton. I absolutely love her! I almost named my dog Jolene because of her song.

Dolly is the best. Absolutely the best.
One of my best friends who lives in East Tennessee had a 3 yo and they get the Dolly Parton books every month. She said they're really good, too--which also isn't a big surprise.

Yep, I'm in Tennessee and we've been getting the books monthly since my littlest was born (I held back on it with my first two kids, don't know why). It's so exciting to get a *package* in the mail and the kids absolutely love it! I give a HUGE side-eye to people I see locally trying to sell/consign them. If there's every a time to donate with an open heart, it's these books for crying out loud. They probably try to sell formula samples too.

I know this is mainly a gossip and snark board and all, and there seems to be an unending amount of fuck ups, jag-offs, and people that you just don't like that you can bitch about. I have a handful of people that I just don't get (Keanu), don't get the hype about (Sandra B.), and just have an irrational hatred of (a cast of thousands). But with Dolly? Irrational love. She's like a walking ball of sunshine and delight! I'm not overly fond of her genre of music, and only like about 3 of her songs, but years of just seeing her in movies, on tv, and in pop culture just made me love her irrationally. I can't think of a thing about her I don't like, or that she's ever done to rub me the wrong way. I don't get her affiliation with the Cyrus clan (she's too good for them), but that's minor. She appears to be a genuinely good person. The Tom Hanks of music. She's up there with Prince and Stevie Wonder in the celeb deaths that will lay me out.

Alison Krauss said that the first time she met Dolly she burst into tears because she loves her so much and Dolly is so awesome. I know if I ever meet Dolly, I would have a similar response.
She is a national treasure. And we have the same birthday (I always have to brag about that).

Omg, whew! And I'm also joining in on the Dolly loooove. She's the bomb.
(And my personal favorite thing about her is that she's rumored to be secretly covered in tattoos!)
