I just saw this earlier today. I admit I was hoping for it to be a laugh riot and I was disappointed. The good parts: 1) Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum had good chemistry 2) Brad Pitt and Daniel Radcliffe were both better than expected
The bad parts 1) this is not really that funny 2) It goes more for cute than humor and this makes it overall come out bland 3) despite the fact that this was partially filmed in some beautiful spots in the Dominican Republic it feels like there were only about 10 people in the whole film. seriously they had one part where there was a crowd at one of her book readings and then a small village with about 12 people. outside of that .... I guess Covid rules?
Overall this was bland and not worth more than a matinee IMHO. What does everyone else think?

I didn't think they had romantic chemistry. They played well off each other, but I never saw them as a romantic pairing. I liked the call backs to Romancing the Stone, but the heat of the lead couple was not there at all.

I liked this movie. It was nice to see something besides a comic book or horror movie.

My mother was dying when the trailers came out and she kept saying she hopes she gets to see the movie. She did not so my sister and I watched it together. It was a disappointment. I also did not get any romantic chemistry between them at all, not sure they ever even kissed during the movie? I was surprised at how small a part Brad Pitt had, I thought he was surprisingly amusing.

I always like Sandra Bullock and she pulled her part off fine, but Channing Tatum was kind of a dud for me. His lines didn't always quite land, I'm thinking someone like Chris Hemsworth could have played this role better. Equally jacked, but better looking in the face and with better comedic timing. I also really liked Beth, who I now recognize as the cop from Only Murders in the Building, I wish her role had been a little larger too. Brad Pitt was great for the brief period he was in it, I was also surprised at how short his role was. And Daniel Radcliffe was clearly having a lot of fun twirling his mustache as the villain, so that was fun. Ultimately though, the love story part of it never clicked due to the lack of chemistry.

The age difference between the leads didn’t work for me. Actually not the age so much as the Channing character seemed too immature. I thought Sandra had better chemistry with Brad. He did great with his roll.
