I did a search and couldn't find anything on Twitter. I am very torn about whether to stay on Twitter or leave. I like Twitter's interface and I obviously like the accounts I follow, plus the various cat and animal videos that pop up are amusing. I get not allowing Musk to drive everyone out, but I am also LOATHE to see him succeed and potentially allow Trump back in to spew his nonsense. Thoughts?

I'll wait and see. It's fun, but I can live without it.

Also going to wait and see, but I will be very sad if he destroys it. Even though it's different now than when I started, I made lots of IRL friends there and still use it to get info on any random thing.

Twitter is great for live events happening. I like to watch awards shows with Twitter open, and I was following it closely during all of the Queen-dying stuff. Ir’s super useful for following local weather, sports, traffic, news events. I use it a lot to get information. I hate to think about stupid Elon Musk running the show.

I deleted my personal account last night. I appreciate Twitter, especially for political insights and opinions different from my own. However, the ideas of Musk being in charge and that he will most likely reinstate 45 and Ye made me walk away.

As someone who follows kpop groups that only post upcoming announcements and events on Twitter and IG, I can't really walk away (at the moment).
I must have a very well-filtered Twitter feed because I don't get that much political stuff - most of my politics are filtered through favorite comedians or writers. If I want news, I go read Washington Post or NY Times or the Guardian.
I actually don't know a ton of people IRL who use Twitter. I'd say maybe one-third of my friends use it.
I hope Elon Musk finds that he just bought a platform that claims millions of users but it's actually millions of bot accounts with a relatively small number of users.

I seem to follow too many cats and NHL teams on twitter.
If Elon f*#KS with Larry the Cat, then I'm out.

Sorry folks, but this subforum is for discussion of actual works of literature. Social media platforms do not qualify.
I'm locking this topic, and you can continue the conversation in the Current Events thread.
