Well that turned out to be a great big nothingburger.
His blood alcohol level was a fraction of NJ's minimum standard for a DUI, which supports his claim of having had only a couple of tequila shots with fans. I didn't believe the "reeked of alcohol with glassy eyes" argument, as that didn't jive with Bruce's squeaky clean reputation.
I'm glad it's resolved fairly and that my crush has not been destroyed.

If what the officer said about glassy eyes and unsteadiness was true...maybe whatever small amount of alcohol he had was interacting badly with whatever meds he might be taking for depression issues? Of course, one would think that he'd be extra careful if he were on some kind of meds, but if that is the case maybe he underestimated the effect or something like that.

Of course, one would think that he'd be extra careful if he were on some kind of meds, but if that is the case maybe he underestimated the effect or something like that. Did I miss something? Anyone else intrigued about the podcast he and President Obama are doing? I am for sure I started it. The first two episodes are available on Spotify. I wasn't immediately hooked, but I might revisit it later. The articles I read sounded like they discuss some interesting things. But I have watched a *lot* of lengthy Obama sit-down interviews recently on youtube (both Barack and Michelle) and I listened to a couple of episodes of Michelle's podcast so I might just have had my fill recently. |

Well, he has suffered from it, as per his own autobiography, and I believe he's said that a combination of therapy and meds have helped him combat it. I don't know whether he is still taking any such meds, but it's just speculation on my part. |

I imagine if he is still on meds for depression, he would have long since learned how they interact with other things like alcohol. I don't think he would have been caught off guard after all this time.
I did listen to parts of the podcast and look forward to hearing the rest. They are two very thoughtful and introspective guys, and I think they bring a lot out of each other. I also admire their apparent mutual respect.
