The Bill O'Reily and Bitsy threads are bumped up for me but nobody has posted in them for a while. Phantom bumping?

Did you ask for them to be bumped? Mods can bump a thread w/o posting.

Nope, I just noticed that they were.

I don't know if this has been suggested before.
The thread about humorous & absurd websites has given me tons of entertainment and hyena-like laughter over the years, both here and on Fametracker. Maybe it would be useful to make a sticky post at the top of the Literature forum with the various sites that have been linked in that thread, maybe breaking it up into groups (like addictive games, weirdos, good pictures, comic strips, etc.). If this is beyond the purposes of this forum, which it admittedly is, it makes complete sense not to do it. But if the mods like the idea, I volunteer to go through at least half of that thread and collect the links.

You're right - I just looked at the thread and saw that it's now 176 pages (well, minus the 30 or so Princess Sparklefuck pages). I'll add this idea along with the others to the utopian world in my head.

There are actually about 80 Sparklefuck pages... so it might not be quite as daunting as you think.

Well, yeah, and I'm a half-fledged computer programmer, so it's very easy to write a program that will strip out the links and put them in a separate file. I'll probably do it when I'm battling my insomnia tonight (no, I don't have a life at all and won't have one until January. Story is too long).
The real work will be to go through the links and categorize them.

Someone (thingamajig?) was saying a few days ago that she now has part of a blinkie from another site stuck in some of the black bars on this site. Now I'm having the same thing (but not on all the threads, apparently), but with an entire "Totally Hot Links" button from the RSVP game from the Absurd & Humourous Websites thread. It replaces the "send topic to friend" button for me. I'm assuming there's nothing you can do, but is this a known issue to Proboards?
It seems to show up on about every second thread I click on.

If you've got Windows, try clearing out your temporary internet files. (To find this crapstuff, click through: My Computer - C: Drive - Documents and Settings - [whatever the user name for your computer system is - not Owner or All Users] - Local Settings - Temporary Internet Files.)
You may need to reveal hidden folders (Local Settings is a hidden folder) - to do that, go to "Folder Options" in the "Tools" drop-down menu and click on the "View" tab. The hidden folders option is in there.
And if all this confused you, let me know what's confusing and I'll try to be clearer.

Thanks, spordelia. That didn't work, but I then cleared my cookies and cache and one of those two things did it (maybe the cache, because would cookies already be in the temp files?).
