Screw it. I'll just double up each time. My computer boyfriend can't figure out what's wrong, and it's not that big of a deal. I just feel like I'm missing something right in front of my face, and I wonder if other people are dealing with this....

ETA: The only thing available is "Post Reply"

Double ETA: There isn't anything in the black bar "reply". I know what you are talkng about. It only helps if I do that first. I can't just write something in the empty box where my message should go.

Under my post there is a black bar. In that black bar

on the left "page number search and bookmark

Under this is the "Quick Reply"
message box

then the Post reply button.

What color are the bars on the top of the first post and bottom of the last post?

mariposa, if you're tired of double-typing, you can type in the tags right as you are typing your response:

[ b ]This is how you bold.[ /b ]
[ i ]This is you italicize.[ /i ]

Just remove the spaces around the parts in the brackets.

After seeing what Ripley just wrote, maybe I should just use html? It's so much easier hitting a big smily face!

Lord, I feel bad, now. I didn't want this much attention.

Topher- I can do it now because I'm editing, but ther ar eno colors. It's only black. It's very simplistic.

I give up for now. I know how to do it if I use html programming, I just thought there was a quick button, like the ones that exist when I edit. Forget it. It's not that big of a deal, I'll try again tomorrow.

But what I saw from Ripley was going ahead and doing my own programming. I didn't see the buttons that I see AFTER I press "post reply". I'm not trying to sound mad, just aggravated!

I hate to butt in here, but are you thinking there are smiley and font buttons by the "Quick Reply" box? Because there aren't. I am talking about the box that you see if you scroll to the bottom of the page in a thread.

If you actually press the "reply" button (the one Topher was talking about, on the black bar at the bottom of the last post, with the folder beside it), there should be smiley and font buttons there. That is the same page it takes you to when you edit. But if you use the "quick reply" box at the bottom of the page, there are no shortcut buttons.

I might just be repeating things here, but I got confused reading all the posts, so I am trying to lay out as clearly as possible what I think might be the problem.

Here's a question about searching: I did a search this morning for Liam Neeson, and every search I did came up that there was no thread. I used all the proper criteria: the right category, number of days, etc. Everything came up (error: no such thread exists". I thought this was weird because I had seen a category for him a while ago, but I thought maybe it had been purged. I started the thread, then a helpful poster resuscitated the thread. What was I doing wrong that I couldn't find the thread? I swear I done grad-jee-ait-ed from collij.
