Sorry if this is the wrong thread for this question (or if it's been posted before and I didn't see it), but the Earth's Children thread in the Literary Chit Chat section is missing an apostrophe in the title, and it keeps catching my (deranged OCD) eye. Can this be fixed? If so, yay and thanks! If not, thanks anyway, and dramatic internet sad-face: :..(

Was there ever a thread called something to the effect of "So that's who that is!", "I knew I'd seen that guy before!" or something like that? Maybe I'm hallucinating but I thought there was a place to talk about relatively small actors whose face had been bugging you and whom you'd seen around in a ton of different films.

If there isn't such a thread, would it be possible to create one? The topic is different from that of the "Whatever happened to ____" thead because most of these are not big actors who have fallen by the wayside. Rather, they're small actors who play 3rd fiddle in a lot of movies and whose faces you've seen a million times, without it ever registering.

For example, I recently rewatched both The Fugitive and the sequel, US Marshals, and I just knew I had seen two of the smaller, lesser "marshals" in other films. It was driving me crazy until I checked IMDb and realised one was "Rose" on "Lost" and the other was Arzt, also on "Lost" (not to mention a host of other smaller films.) If I were to mention either of their real-life names, I think people would just draw a complete blank. But if I said that "Rose" was the US Marshall with Tommy Lee Jones in The Fugitive, I'm sure people would be like "oooooooooh" or have similar sorts of cool connections to make.

If this babbling, rambling post made *any* sense (which is highly doubtful), what do you think of a thread like that, if it doesn't exist already?

Sorry Kafka, it just doesn't seem right for the board. If it's a big enough actor, start a thread on him. If it's a smaller character actor that no-one really knows, he's not "celebrity" enough for the board.

Okay, I am probably the only person having trouble with this, and I used to be able to do it, but I can't do a link. Can you give me another, longer example of the correct way to do it other than the short one in FAQs? Thanks!

I can't seem to get my avatar to show up on screen. I've been trying it now and then for three months with no luck. Clearly I'm stupid and am doing something wrong.

I upload the avatar I want to use to tinypic.com, copy the link into the Avatar URL line in Modify Profile, click "Modify profile" and nothing happens. What am I missing?

I fixed it...I put it up on photobucket.com instead, as I've always had trouble with tinypic.
