How does this man not have a thread?

I've been taping Rome religiously week after week and I managed to re-watch the series while it was on hiatus last week. I watched his full frontal scene more than a few times (I hope my tape isn't worn out completely....must make duplicate from On Demand). This is one sexy Mark Antony.

He first caught my eye in the dreary "Knight's Tale". Loved him in "Resident Evil".

Anyone else?

Yes! forgot about that one. He was wonderful in yet another not so great film. He plays devilishly charming quite well.

He is pretty sexy in Rome but , as a rule, he really doesn't do it for me. I think it is because he was pushed for so long as the epitome of "sex" (the nickname James "Puresex" etc...) that I had the opposite reaction and found him to be pretty much a turn-off. Things are improving for him in my book with Rome but I just don't get the screaming lust he inspires in some people. Although the best thing, for me, about A Knight's Tale was the lovely (and naked!) Paul Bettany so perhaps I simiply prefer blond and pointy not dark and brooding.

Fans of his should see him as the tortured son who is one of the early few against slavery in Mansfield Park.

He is very good looking and I remember thinking (during Vanity Fair), poor guy has found himself in another stinker. It's a shame he can't get a big hit because his looks will take him far.

BTW, ya'll know that Gwyneth dated him. I wonder who dumped who. Anyone got the fine details?

I'm definitely in the camp that finds him sexy. I even found him sexy playing a rapist in some BBC drama years ago, which was probably the first thing I ever saw him in. Love him in Rome. Did they ever consider him for the role of Bond? I would have thought he'd fit the profile, but maybe he didn't want the role.

I remember reading that he dated Gwyneth but it was after her (stupid) comments about how British men were too scared to ask her out (or something) and he very publically stepped up to the plate and batted away for England. I don't think their relationship was serious at all. I always got the impression that they went on a few (if any) dates.

No, it was before her moronic statement.

Remember when Gwyneth famously complained that only two British men had asked her out during an extended stay in London? Purefoy was one of them. He's cagey about discussing his A-list catch.
'We went out on a few dates,' he says, covering his ears and shouting, 'I can't hear you!' in response to further questioning. 'Anything you say about anyone that famous gets magnified out of all proportion. And she is so famous. Plus she's a married woman now.'
