He's got the Viggo Effect for me: I only think he's sex on legs when he's dirty and sweaty. Otherwise, meh. He does give great interviews, though. I remember him being especially charming on Letterman a few years back. (I will forever give Melanie a pass, just because she did Cecil B. Demented. She's great in that.)

The first time that I saw AB was in Interview with the Vampire. He was all wrong for the part as written by Anne Rice, but, woah mama! He appeared on screen and my jaw dropped. That happens so rarely to me that I usually end up having a permanent crush on the actor. I had the same reaction when I saw him in IWTV. He took my breath away. But the first time I saw him was in Philadelphia as the boyfriend and immediately liked him, but the first time he made me sweat was in the film "Assassins". Anyone ever see the Saturday Night Live skit called "The Antonio Bandaras SHow"? Where he mangles the English language and says "how do you say....show?" constantly.

I just finished watching Original Sin. May I say I must commend Mr. Banderas on pulling off a reasonable acting job playing off the steaming pile of acting that was across from him.
AJ has this very annoying habit of doing this "hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm" thing and then mumbling her lines or saying then very low under her breath. I've seen it in her other films too. It grates.
Angelia Jolie really is a mediocre talent unless in the hands of a skilled director.

I thought he was hot hot in Desperado and Once Upon a time in Mexico. Antonio, Johnny and Salma! My oh my! I basically like him when he's playing Latin characters and gets to speak in Spanish. So even though he does nothing for me these days, especially with his short hair and completed with the surgical doll he married, I'm looking forward to this tango movie, because it might be exactly what I need to reignite my Antonio flame.

Might I recommend, to reignite Antonio lust, Never Talk to Strangers? I'm personally waiting for the NC-17 rated version, because what he and Rebecca DeMornay (I knew, ew, but in this movie, hmm) do to a cage-like wall should never be forgotten.

BWAH! Maybe this is an unpopular opinion but, he was the best thing about EVITA. Madge was swell but, I found Antonio quite mesmerizing.

I love him when he's doing goofy-sexy, like in The Mask of Zorro and Spy Kids.
I love Spy Kids; everyone associated with that movie gets my love. I even forgive them for Spy Kids 3D.

Thanks! For some odd reason I've always found Rebecca De Mornay's very sensual, so I don't mind it at all.

I agree heyalice, he was the best thing in that movie.
The reason I made the comment about Original Sin is as an actor myself, when your acting partner is not that great, it can be harder on you. And if your partner is excellent, it can really pull a great performance outof you. So I commend Antonio on pulling off what he could in that movie. AJ was terrible.

Mambo Kings. That and El Mariachi sequel (title escapes me at the moment). Those are the only two movies in which I can tolerate Mr. Banderas. Maybe add his turn as Puss 'n' Boots...maybe not.
ETA: I see the title above: Once Upon a Time in Mexico
