She actually looks pretty good in those pics. As far as her art work, well, it's not much better or worse than some of the other stuff out there. I mean, I've seen worse things on Bravo's Work of Art get accolades. Modern art is often more about the gimmicky back story of the "pieces" anyway. I have to wonder if the writer would be so overtly negative had they seen the show without knowing who the artist was. Cause this statement ---
--- is just silly. Anyone else who did this wouldn't be labeled as shocking for "defiling" the "sanctity of the ancient institution." They'd likely just be labeled as boring for taking such an obvious stab at irony.

The rights to Kurt's likeness shifting to Frances (as mentioned in americanchai's link) is going to be a HUGE blow to her. Didn't she sell him out for something like Rock Band or Guitar Hero recently and Krist/Grohl were NOT having it? I hope that Frances is smart about saving her money. Didn't Frances do an art show recently as well? I feel like her stuff was okay but kinda amateurish/first draft/generic moody teen.

I agree that she looks pretty good in the photos. What a terrible negative hack job on her show. I mean, I get why some are so negative toward her, but that's a stupid article.

I actually kind of like her art. I wouldn't pay money for it, but it's alright.

Then Courtney threw a tantrum over the use of Kurt's image in the game (he's a playable character), until the game makers reminded her she'd signed off on it. And she whined about the use of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" in the Muppet film. This time, Krist and Dave gave their approval. Unlike Courtney, they have a sense of humor. |

I don't know why, but I always feel I have to stick up for the young Wendy's Suckling. He wasn't a homeless man... He lived in his parents' basement... That is all... Frances getting her Daddy's legacy and memoribilia away from Mommy? Go Frances! It's your birthday! (And about damn time!) I hated the few glimpses of Courtney's "art". It's neither shocking nor appauling to 'defile' a wedding dress.... It's just deeply uncreative. Her drawings look like the stuff that would decorate a 13 year old girl's angst filled diary. But the fact she felt the need to explain what it means for all the tears and blood she's shedding gives me the sudden urge to bop her on the head with a rolled up newspaper. Hell, taking the picture of that guy living in his parents' basement sucking her titty and reproducing it in four colors Andy Warhol style would have had carried more artistic weight. At least then if she'd stated that this represents the music industry or her haters 'sucking her dry' I would have had the urge to just laugh rather than bop her with something. |
