Hmm, Courtney's provided such a thoughtful, balanced response. I for one am certainly convinced now.

In one off those bikini shots on the beach, where she sitting down, it appears as if she has two belly buttons. And I can't figure out which is the real one. I don't know what kind of exercise regimine while carve a new navel into one's abdomen.

Man Courtney, pull your shit together!! "Live Through This" is still one of my all time fave albums and one of the few ones I can listen to in any mood. Violet and Credit in the Straight World are great songs to pump you up at the gym or during house cleaning. Edited to add appropriate emoticon, yes it is that serious.

She's so very insecure. I never would have taken her for that... of course that's plain ol' silly talk because every so often, I feel the press is true and it so clearly isn't. She always seemed so bad ass.. not really caring if people liked her or not. The truth is: she so desperately wants to be liked she's willing to stoop to extreme measures to have that happen. Drugs are a different story--I do think some people get hooked before they realize what they're doing. While I've never done drugs, I smoked cigarettes, a habit I picked-up when I was 16. Long before I knew the dangers of addiction. I quite but it was hard. I too wish she would pull it together. Stop the insanity of starvation, drug use, starvation, drug use. You're an adult and a mom. [/rant]

I just wanted to add a Word Up! to that. I have an unreasonable amount of admiration for Courntey of yore. She was the patron saint of my post-adolescent angsty college time. COME ON.

She mentioned of her weight loss, "Now I can fit into couture." Shows what her values are.
I'm willing to give Courtney a pass on pretty much anything, but that... come on. It's a betrayal of everything she was.

I remember a while back, when she was promoting her diaries, she did an interview with Evan Solomon on Hot Type. She said that her daughter was more embarassed about her weight gain than her drug use. Great.

And I'm sure that's only because Courtney filled poor Frances Bean's head with bullshit about how awful being "fat" is.

Courtney is always talking about how Frances Bean is embarrassed by her-her weight, her clothes, her music, her lifestyle, everything. If Courtney's upset about it, why doesn't she clean up her act? This is definately not a case of a teenager being bratty-Courtney IS embarrassing.
Or maybe she finds it amusing that Frances is embarrassed. Either way, ugh. I feel badly for Frances. I hope she grows up to be a decent person and not some half-naked party girl like Momma.

To Courtney, being embarrassed by your parents is probably normal. And it is, to a point, however Frances isn't the problem here. It's Courtney and I don't think she realizes that. Perhaps she will when Frances is in her 20s or 30s and is still embarrassed.
