Didn't Russel Crowe admit that their reported romance (or whatever it was) was all down to Courtney making insinuating remarks. He claims he didn't do anything with her but felt that it was her place to set the record straight.

Russell said they spent one night hanging out in a hotel room writing poetry together, but Courtney went on and on about it to the press as if they'd had an affair. He thought it would be ungentlemanly to contradict her because 1)that would be calling her a liar in public, and 2) he didn't it to sound like, "She's a disgusting skank and I wouldn't touch her with a barge pole." But he said he wouldn't be friends with her anymore because of her press shenanigans. And then to get back at him she accosted him and Danielle at some awards show and loudly harassed them in front of the paparazzi, as is her wont.

I remember shortly after Kurt died, Courtney was going around claiming she was having an affair with Brad Pitt and waving a big diamond ring on her engagement finger which she said was from him.

Eeewwwww! The girl who lived next door to me in college was fooling around with him at that time as well! Does this mean I was indirectly sharing a bathroom with Courtney Love?

I always thought his story sounded a little fishy (why would you let some woman - friend or not - spread rumors about sleeping with you if they weren't at least a little bit true?).

I think it's the double standard on two levels. First, as a man, you aren't really harmed by admitting you've slept with lots of women or by letting women insinuate that they've slept with you. As a woman, it's pretty humiliating for a man to publicly come out and say he had nothing to do with you after you've said you've slept with him.

I think Russell Crowe can be a huge dick, but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.

She's either famewhore lying, looking for sympathy as she goes to court again, or sadly is.

I guess in about 7 to 8 months, not only will it be "Poor Frances." but also "Poor Zippy the Pinhead" cos you know if she has it the child will have some serious problems.

Otherwise, though, you're right, no one wants to admit that they've touched her. Which makes me feel a teeny bit sorry for her. She has obviously always thought of herself as hideous, and that kind of treatment can't help.

I remember reading years ago after Courtney first became famous that a journalist went to interview the owner of the club where she had once stripped at. He told the interviewer that Courtney was only ever allowed on stage during the day when the fat, ugly biker chicks (his words, not mine) danced - even though she volunteered to dance at anytime because she really wanted to be a stripper! That story has always stuck in my mind and I think it's kind of illustrative of the dis-juncture between how Courtney wants to be seen and adored by men and the sad reality of how they actually treat her.

But as Dr. Phil says, you set the tone for how people treat you and I think that Courtney sets that bar very low!

I hate Dr. Phil, but I'll agree on that.

I've listened to Courtney on KROQ and all I have to say is: girl is nuttier than a cheese log. She's reached Britney's level of coherency and I just can't make sense of what she says or if she makes most of her stuff up. She seems to be living in a paranoid land of make-believe. I hope she cleans up and Frances Bean gets normal parenting from someone else.

I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt (he was classy about the whole thing, considering). I just never realized that there is a sort of history with dudes sleeping with Courtney and then denying the affair. It just puts his actions in a slightly different light to me. I would still believe Rusty over Courtney any day.

Yeah, I don't think Courtney's "stories" are limited to guys she "slept" with either. She also tends to name drop and talk about all the cool people she's hanging with, going to parties with, and doing stuff with... and half the time I seriously think she is is either blowing up a two minute conversation into a major thing or she's totally making it up. Like around the time of People vs Larry Flint she was telling all these stories about being best friends with Gwenyth Paltrow and other random people that she might have known or hung with, but weren't really as close as she implied. Then there's her nutty Nicole Kidman story where later Nicole Kidman denied ever meeting her...

She sort of reminds me of a middle-school sycophant-- that one girl that wants to be popular really badly and will hang with you when there's no one better, but she'll be damned if she doesn't get to tell you that story where the popular girl loaned her a pen or something.

I don't believe the story at all. I think it is to get sympathy in the press since the Judge wanted to toss her in jail due to her violating her probation. She got rehab, again.
