Well now both are saying she isn't pregnant with his baby, and that they only "met a few times". I'm not clear on whether or not she's pregnent at all.

I think it is to get sympathy in the press since the Judge wanted to toss her in jail due to her violating her probation. She got rehab, again.

Pleading the belly! Heh. She said she was having a miscarriage when they carted her off to Bellevue and that wasn't true either. Personally, I think she just wants people to think she's young and fertile and desirable, not a menopausal skank.

I remember when Nick Broomfield was trying to get Kurt and Courtney released and Courtney, apparently during her 5 seconds of her "look at me, I'm a serious actress and a force to be reckoned (sp?) with" phase, successfully got some backers to pull their money from the film. (Might have been MTV or VIACOM?) All of which was caught by Broomfield's cameras. The best part of the doc was when Broomfield cornered Snortney at the ACLU dinner where she was being "honored" for her work for free speech (not sure what that 'work' was except appearing in People vs Larry Flynt) and he asked her if she was so in favor of free speech, why was she trying to prevent him from having the same privilege? It's amazing that at some point, the woman actually had "power." Or possibly, just very good legal representation.

I'll say though that I thought Courtney was perfect for the role of Nancy Spungen in "Sid and Nancy" and can't believe they cast Chloe Webb instead, leaving Courtney with just a bit part in the film. Everything about Courtney WAS Nancy -- the look (pre-first-nose job), the grating whine, the committment to heroin, the mental health problems, the narcissism, and the desperate hitching of her wagon to someone else's "star." Too bad Courtney saw Nancy as an aspirational figure.

Being in your late 30s is hardly menopausal. My mom had me at that age, and my father's mother was 42 when she had him. Nevertheless Courtney isn't 24 anymore and should act her age.

She's 41 now (you know, officially) and while I don't believe she's actually menopausal yet, she knows she's heading there and can't stand it.

I very much agree with this. Twice in my life I've had contact (not particularly close) with people who were on emotionally shaky ground and who lied about having serious medical conditions. Maybe to divert attention from the real problem? Anyhow, that's the first thing I thought of with CL and her "problem."

Jail should be reserved for violent or chronic offenders, but in this case it probably would have helped.

Robert Downey Jr, only seemed to get his head out of his ass after he went to big boy jail.
