Beautiful young woman.
This might not be true, but I heard that Courtney owns royalties to other songs, and that she made money when Phish covered Velvet Underground's "Rock and Roll". I can't find concrete evidence, but I think she had some smart financial managers and is diversified. I heard this from people at the show, I wouldn't doubt it. Funny if she's making money off hippies.

She is gorgeous, but looking at these pics makes me feel like I'm older than dirt. I had this instant mom reaction, "Frances! Take that cigarette out of your mouth, young lady!"

That looks like Quentin Crisp tattoed on her back. Her tats are at least interesting and personal in nature, not the usual crap.

She's lovely. But waaaaay too many tattoos. When you have that many it often ages a person a lot. I'm not seeing the nose job; there's pics in that post that do side-by-side of her with her Dad and it looks like she has his nose, eyes, and forehead.

I think she's beautiful and really like her with the dark hair. I can't imagine what it was like growing up with Courtney Love as her mother. Did Frances Bean get emancipated as a minor or just have custody transferred to other family members?
Here's my thing with the tattoos: I think it's a huge mistake for someone so young to get so many. I think it's selfish to their older selves. As they get older and their tastes get more refined and have a stronger sense of self that they'd like to express through body art, all of their prime tattoo real estate is taken. And I can't think of anything I liked at 20 that I'd still want on my body at 40. Hers do seem classy and well done though. Just too many.

Kurt's mother and sister were appointed Frances' legal guardians. At one point, Courtney's stepfather also raised Frances. Last I read, Frances had hired a lawyer because Courtney had helped herself to some of her daughter's money.
I'm disappointed that she's taken up smoking. I was hoping she'd skip the cancer sticks. As for the tattoos, some look better than others.
It would be cool if this girl simply went to college, got a decent job, didn't famewhore, and had a productive life. That's as close as there could be to a happy ending for the Kurt and Courtney saga.

I'm kinda okay if Frances Bean's only bad habits are smoking and ill-advised tattoos - given her background, it could be much worse.

Let me be the voice o' doom and predict that, given her background, it will be much worse. I'm not going to bet that Frances Cobain turns out to be a well-balanced, productive adult. When she left Courtney's house, she was raised by Kurt's mother? Kurt was not exactly an example of stellar childrearing. A better guardian than Courtney, yes, but even a golden retriever would've been better.

I remember reading in Heaver than Heaven that Cobain's parents were divorced and he lived with his mom until she married? someone else. She kicked him out of the house and at 16 he's sleeping on a porch in a cardboard box at a friend's house. It seemed like he just wanted her to love and accept him and she couldn't. If she's the best choice to parent, then yeah, Frances' DNA should be in Palo Alto at the nuclear lab, because BOOM both sides violent and explosive. Also, from the pictures in the book, Kurt looked just like his mother. Yes, I have a soft spot for a guy who would simultaneously overdose on heroin and blow his brains out with a shotgun. That's got to be heavy duty emotional pain.
