She's apparently writing a tell-all memoir. That poor, poor editor. The story on her in the newest Vanity Fair just made me sad. It seems like she's now fucked over by her paranoia at (allegedly) being defrauded. Plus, she's self-aware to say stuff like "I'm going to end up like Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard" and, when the journalists asks her to tell how she was defrauded as a simple story/narrative, Courtney says "I can't, I'm not linear enough." She looks good in the photos, though, but they could be airbrushed beyond belief and taken pre-latest surgeries.

I read some excerpts from that interview on D Listed. Apparently, she read portions of Frances's diary to the interviewer. It can't be said enough: Poor, poor Frances.

Francis deserves every cent of her inheritance for putting up with her mother.

Yikes.
I'll always have a fondness for Courtney, but I wouldn't wish her company on my worst enemy.

I wish I could find the entire article online because some of those things sound, well, not quite AS crazy in context. But, still, Poor Frances.

I just got that Vanity Fair in the mail and the quote she read out of Frances's diary was from when Frances was a pre-teen and the main reason Courtney read it was to emphasise that Frances didn't mention, of things she loves, watching movies with her mom. Basically, woe is me, my daughter isn't 100% focused on ME. Also, the article makes pretty clear that the only reason Courtney is crying poor is not because she does not get a ton of money from the publishing company that owns rights to Nirvana's music, but because she is a crazy spendthrift. Designer clothes, tons and tons of assistants and employees, renting yachts, etc. She's a disaster and even her manager says that she has the talent and ability and there is enough interest in her that she could be making seven figures on her own but she's so obsessed with "the fraud" that she can't concentrate on anything but. It also mentions that one of Frances's reasons for emancipation (written in the legal filings) was that her mother was completely consumed with "the fraud" to the point that she was neglecting her daughter. Sad.
