We don't need another hero because we had Tina. RIP legend. Ah, man. I know she'd been sick, but still, this hurts. Thanks for the music, Tina.

I know she was ill for a while, but this is just ... surprising. What a performer. Random bit of gossip...She once chucked a pen at my bestie.

She was one of my heroes. She's the best concert I've ever seen - I loved it not just for her talent, but for the way that she put EVERY person on stage with her in the spotlight and wanted them all to shine not as her support, but for the talented performers they all were. I loved that she was honest in telling the world what she went through, but didn't let it define her. I loved that she knew feminine and powerful belonged together as much as singing and dancing. I loved that in her music when she sung about heartache, she sang about getting past it, not clinging to it. She had a tough life, but she lived it well and was blessed with the final act being filled with great love. I'm not sure which is my favorite story of her and her husband - that shortly after meeting she told him to come to America because she wanted to make love to him, or the fact that when she needed one, he gave her a kidney. They were a great love story. Thank you Tina.

Aw Tina, what a legacy she leaves us with, courage, music, dance and an incredible spirit. If ever there was a day to bust out a dance move in the living room today is it. God Speed Tina.

Allegedly... my Mom as a Teenager would sneak out of the house in Suburban St. Louis and head over the Mississippi to East St. Louis to see Ike and Tina Turner perform. Tina was my Mom's favorite singer. This one brings back some pain. Thank you, Queen!

She was unmatched. Simply the best and there will never be another Tina Turner. Rock on, Queen Tina!

I know many people will focus on her influence in music, and I’m not here to minimize it. For me, her impact was on how I think about domestic violence. My mother is the survivor of it and she is one of the smartest and strongest people I’ve ever met. If It happened to someone as famous and strong as Tina Turner, that means that domestic violence could affect anyone. She was able to take her power and have a comeback in the 1980s when most women are retiring is still remarkable. I not only celebrate her music, but I also celebrate her as an icon for women who survived domestic abuse. Far too many women don’t. Thank you, Tina.
