Brilliant, brilliant, man. I fell head over heels in love with him in Sid and Nancy and thought he was the best Lee Harvey Oswald ever in JFK. Good lord, I even thought he was a sexy Dracula, despite the gross make up.

This seems to be a very popular opinion here, I see. Can't we find an explanation for this surprising crush we all have? Because I have to admit it's weird...

He's an amazing actor, BTW. I recently watched a silly movie on TV and at the end, we were surprised to see it was him on one of the main roles, he looked so different. But I'll always love him for Immortal Beloved and, specially, for the drunk actor in Friends. That one was hilarious!
Plus, he shares my birthday (although not the same year)

ETA: this is the movie I saw, and according to the trivia in IMDB, even his costars couldn't recognise him when he appeared at the set for the first time with his make-up on, so I'm not too ashamed.

I had the same experience watching Batman Begins. Halfway through the movie, I was still wondering when Gary Oldman was going to show up!

I didn't know he was an alcoholic but it makes a lot of sense. It really rips the looks away fast, and he has aged faster than he should have.

It's that catlip thing he has going on. His upper lip is very thin, mobile, and flexible, with that little crease in the middle. Imagine the possibilities.

Crazy yes, but I'd do him too. Even in that craptastic Dracula movie, with that bad hair, he really sold the sexy.

He'd have to be sober for our hookup, because he seems like he might be a little dangerous if he had a few too many.

I've noticed that he seems to bring his kids up in interviews in a 'look what my kid said today, isn't he funny' sort of way. I saw an interview for BB wherein he said that he introduced his kids to a Bat-suited Christian Bale, so now they call 'Batman' 'Christian Bale'.
