Here's a clip of Mizrahi groping Scarlett for those of you who missed it. Fom The Superficial:

I only saw his act at the Golden Globes for a second or two but since then I have read multiple newspaper-esque reviews saying he was the awesomest-bestest-most-hilariousest host eva!!1!!1
Funny that the opinions here are the complete opposite.
His new show is bad and clogs up my Style channel. Although I sort of liked his old show.

I think he didn't realize his regular behavior was not suited to the venue. Then he is stupid. I have since seen more footage and he's got his hands all over various actress' breasts. What he does as a designer is one thing but it should be obvious even to a designer that continually touching someone's bust on the red carpet is not appropriate. I wish one of the ladies had said something to him, even something half-joking like "Hey, watch where you put that hand." Anything! I hope he's not invited back next year.

I agree. Even fashion designers should be able to exercise a little common sense and good judgment and realise what may be appropriate behaviour in one setting might not be appropriate in another. Even toddlers have to learn that lesson at some time.

But he's not just gay, he's a fashion designer, and he spends a lot of time manhandling scantily clad women. I think he didn't realize his regular behavior was not suited to the venue. Yeah, I see what you're saying but still, I think that's a bit of a stretch. I gotta think something is wrong with him if he seriously needs to be told "You're not designing clothes here, so don't touch the breasts." How did he become famous anyway? I think my first exposure to him was on the Conan O' Brien show.

He was a semi-major designer in the early 90s, then he was the subject of the documentary Unzipped, and suddenly he was considered a major designer and celebrities were wearing his clothes everywhere. He was really popular for a few years, and then he sort of slowly declined. He seems to do very well now designing for Target and being a personality, but it's not the same as being a top-tier designer.

I love Target, but I think anyone with a design background could design for them. They just look at popular trends and make things more affordable.
And if he doesnt know any better than to grab actresses boobs, I bet he doesnt get invited to many A (or even B) list parties. I am also willing to bet that if it werent for the fact that they were on live tv, at least one of those actresses would have let him have it (verbally or with a Burt Reynolds style slap).
Does/did he ever design dresses that would be seen on the red carpet?

Other than Target, he does a couture line. I think you can find it at Bergdorfs. Selma Blair wears alot of his stuff.

He used to. Helen Hunt used to wear a lot of his stuff when both of them were in their heydey. I think this is Mizrahi. I always thought his stuff was obvious and slightly tacky. Definitely not breaking new fashion ground.
