I remember reading another actor accusing him of being inappropiate with his daughter or something along those lines. This is going back a few years.

I believe that was Harvey Keitel, and it was his daughter with actress Lorraine Bracco. I'm not sure whatever happened, but I do know that Bracco and Olmos divorced.

I liked him in Stand and Deliver, but I don't really remember him in anything else.

He was also in American Me, about Mexican American gangs. He has been in Selena w/ J. Ho before she blew up; she played her manager/father in that movie.

Right now, he's working on a film about the Chicano student movement in East Los Angeles.

I have heard him speak publicly a few times. He comes across as he does in film and in interviews. I feel bad that he's limited in what he can play due to the lack of interesting roles for Latinos. Most movies about Latinos center of being from a big Latin family, boxing, singing, gang banging, drug dealing, or some cheesy feel good movie about the barrio.

I remember him for Miami Vice. He was always the stern Lt. Castillo and never ever smiled.

"It was the saddest day of my life when she hooked up with him," Keitel said of Olmos, and Keitel is not a man who takes sad days sitting down. The battle for custody of Bracco and Keitel's daughter was legendary, even by Hollywood divorce standards. The legal costs forced Bracco into bankruptcy, and Keitel accused Olmos of being a child molester, uncovering a complaint against Olmos which had been filed by an underage family friend, then settled for a cash payout from Olmos -- who, of course, denied that anything inappropriate ever took place. A judge eventually ordered that Olmos not be alone in the same room with Keitel and Bracco's daughter, and the Bracco-Olmos marriage did not last long.

I'm not sure about this one, but, due to all of the training I've had, I CAN say that judges don't order people to stay away from kids without a good reason. I gather it was an epic battle for custody, but, molesters leave trails and apparently there was another accuser somewhere along the line.

Anyway, he's a great actor, but he's always been tainted for me because of this.

I will always dislike him for saying that deportation of Mexican illegals is the equivalent to genocide. He said this on Politically Incorrect way back when. What a stupid fucking asshole. Plus he feels that Spanish should be made an official language here. WTF?!

I like him as an actor, but I don't know anything about him. The US has never had an official language.
