I'm pretty indifferent to her acting, but I remember seeing a picture of Anne at some event (can't remember which) where she just looked amazing. The dress was strapless and sparkly, and it made her body look fantastic.
Put the Joker lips away Anne! Go back to your other look. You know, the one where you're actually pretty...

I think she is very striking and I sort of like her personality. This judgment was born from the Ella Enchanted DVD commentary-in which she was not annoying and somewhat charming.
She has those kind of features that get stronger and stronger though the years. I hope she doesn't mess it up with too much (bad) plastic surgery etc. I imagine she will eventually look Angelica Huston-esque (which I think is a good thing.)
I don't think that she would have been my choice for Devil Wears Prada because she isn't mousy enough.

I'd rate her looks as attractive, in an ordinary sort of way--like your neighbor or friend, not like a movie star. (Wearing her hair pulled straight back, like at the GG's is not an especially good look for her.) She does seem like she has a strong personality, Alby.

I've only seen her in Brokeback Mountain, which I didn't think she was that great in. But whenever I see her, she bugs me. It bugs me that I know who she is when all she does is Disney stuff, yet she acts like she something special. Yech.

I just saw this dramatic commercial for Brokeback...
"Michelle Williams is a revelation" "Jake Gyllenhaal is flawless" "Heath Ledger's performance are what dreams are made of" "Anne Hathaway...is in the movie?"
I mean I know they are falling over the Academy Award nominated actors in it and Anne's role wasn't as intregal (or so I'm assuming, I haven't seen it)...but I can't help but feel bad for her. Total shut out.

The girl in Devil Wears Prada isn't described as mousy...is she? I never got that impression.

I didn't get the impression that the Devil Wears Prada girl was mousy either. Actually, I think Anne would fit the bill for her quite well - ordinary girl. I don't think the character was mousy, nor do I think she was stylish and flashy.

I thought she was described as tall, thin and blonde but I could be imagining that - it's been awhile since I read the book.

That's how I remember her. I don't think Anne can pull off blonde, so maybe they'll change that for DWP.

Ugh, she certainly couldn't in Brokeback Mountain, although to her credit I think the look was to be an obvious bad bleach job with contrasting jet black eyebrows. But still, she looked horrid as blonde in BBM.
