I saw an interview with them and they said the puppet came out so badly they decided to make it "challenged". They also said Matt Damon had a good laugh about it. He doesn't seem the type that takes himself to seriously and seems to be able to laugh at himself.

Heh, after talking about his wife, I just saw that she got a "Well Played" entry from the Fug Girls (and damn, I would kill for her skintone because I could never pull of a stark white dress like that), and holy crap does she look just like my friend. Freaky!
I could definitely see him laughing about the "challenged" puppet. He seems to have a pretty good sense of humor and like he's really down to earth. Although I briefly doubted that when I read his Bourne vs. Bond comments (seriously, dude, it's a spy movie, it's not high art, so calm yourself). But I like him so much I'm going to let that slide. He gets a pass from me just for his brief appearance in Eurotrip, which has got to be the funniest cameo I've ever seen.
Weren't he and Ben supposed to start working on another screenplay? Has anyone heard anything about that? I hope whatever they come up with ends up being great, because I have a feeling that if it sucks, it's going to suck hard. Good Will Hunting is going to be a tough act to follow (not that it's Shakespeare or anything).

Don't bring up Good Will Hunting else I'm going to remember why I didn't like him at all before.

Have you guys seen this? He is hilarious doing an impression of Matthew McConaughey. Ohhhh, that is funny. I do really like him. Especially after the story about his apt. flooding. My eyes teared up.

I fully blame Paul Greengrass for Matt's attitude about the Bourne series. If you listen to his commentary on Supremacy, the man cannot bear to be responsible for a mindless action flick. From the interviews I read, he spent the whole filming harping on Bourne's character and other aspects that really shouldn't get more than a cursory mention in an action flick. So, that asshattery is really contaigous from Greengrass.
I adore Matt as an actor and think he seems like a normal dude who loves his family.

Matthew McConaughey was pleased with the impression too (last couple of minutes of this interview).

I don't know about Matt having a good sense of humor. There're several quotes in the Celebrity Dumb Quotes thread that seems to lend credence to the idea that Matt is a self-important ass. The two that stick in my head: 1) Matt gets pissed off at a review from years ago (for Good Will Hunting) that is largely flattering to him, but makes fun of his choice of shoes and 2) Matt gets pissed off at his elementary school principal for not letting him come back to the school after he left, in order to "have a sense of closure."

Okay. My initial instincts were right. I'm back to disliking him. That and being reminded of GWH. Plus him having the face of a high school senior.

I watched his Inside the Actor's Studio (on YouTube) and it was interesting. He's seriously articulate, lovely about his family, serious about acting and has a great sense of humour. I'm sure he has his flaws, but he won me over with his impersonation of Jack Nicholson shooting The Departed.
Maybe I'm apologising for him because I like him, but I tend to think that a lot of the shitty things he's done (breaking up with Minnie Driver on Oprah comes to mind) and his arrogance can be explained by how young he was when he became famous and how immediate his success was. The Bagger Vance experience seems to have helped him to take stock and be a bit less impressed with himself. I like him as he is now, even if I wouldn't have liked him a few years ago, and I think he's a great actor.
