Team America actually made me like Matt Damon more because he thought that his "portrayal" in the movie was funny and didn't get all bent out of shape about it the way just about every other celebrity who they made fun of in that movie did. Having a sense of humor about yourself goes a long way in my book.

Bump for Chameleon. Now I totally get if there's not a thread already (I did a search), because usually when I start reading about Matt Damon my eyes sort of cross and zzzzzzzzzz. Plus, I don't think he's the least bit hot. But this story just about cracked my cold, black heart right in two.
Having a sense of humor about yourself goes a long way in my book. Why does my faulty memory keep thinking his was an ass about it and expressed being offended? Maybe I'm confusing him with someone else? Anyway, whatevs. I didn't think much of him before but I'll jump on the Love Bandwagon. He has an ease about him. And he effortlessly makes Cruise look like the idiot he is so I'm loving.

I think it was Sean Penn who got all bent out of shape about Team America.

I think it was Sean Penn who got all bent out of shape about Team America. Oh, yeah. It was Sean Penn. How could I forget how he was bitching about it. It was funny because he was calling the film childish (or words to that effect) but the fact that he was so seriously insulted and got so personally offended over the childishness of it all made him look....well childish. I had never seen the Matthew McConaughey bit before. That is so dead on.
I think he's one of the better actors, especially of our generation. He also seems smart and, well, normal, so I have a lot of respect for him. His wife is a dead ringer for one of my friends, so much so that she (my friend) freaked out when I pulled up a picture of her online. So because she looks like my awesome friend, I can only like Matt more for his excellent taste in women. And I respect him for not marrying, say, Winona.
I'd forgotten about the Matt Damon puppet in Team America. Wasn't the story that his "character" wasn't originally written as challenged, but when Parker and Stone saw the puppet, they thought it looked "special"? I could be wrong.
