Crown Princess Mathilde (Belgium)

What do people think about her? I find her quite pretty but also very dull. She doesn't do or say anything interesting - she seems a little like a Stepford wife - no personality! She has nice clothes, but I have to say I prefer Mary and Letizia much more.

Also, has anyone else noticed that Mathilde has a huge forehead?

I couldn't agree more. I think part of it for me is the all-encompassing love she seems to get from so many royal watchers though. You can only hear so much "She's so classy and beautiful and perfect and the ideal blah blah blah..." before you sort of want to smack someone. She's okay. She's fine. She's nothing special.

Yeah...her forehead's so big you could project a movie on it. She's nice and all but I think I probably feel the same way about her is a poster in the Letizia thread feels about Letizia.

Does anyone ever visit glittering royal events? They're ALWAYS on about Mathilde. Everytime you start a thread on any of the other CP's the same people always interrupt to say how glamorous Mathilde is.

I mean, there's nothing wrong with her but I just don't think she's very special.

I think Mathilde will pass going fast. I have nothing against her at all. I don't find her any more appealing than her sister in laws Claire & Astrid. She gets more press because she is CP. I have noticed her wide forehead and its suppose to be a sign of intelligence.
I have noticed on the other boards when they compliment one of the other women how someone always interjects a comment about how great she is.
I think Stepford wife is an adequate description. Have you noticed when she is photographed with her husband, he has this weird look of resignation on his face?

On glittering royal events you can't write something about anyone without some idiot posting "of course, we all naturally have to agree that Mathilde is the most elegant princess ever and the only true crown princess, blah blah blah".

She boring and her forehead doesn't make her look intelligent, it makes her look like a cro-magnon woman. I

I didn't like her wedding dress. The jacket was ill-fitting and made her look wide. Letizia's version of it was so much nice and fit properly (of course, I wouldn't dare say that on *certain* message boards). Of the Belgians, Mathilde's dress wasn't even the nicest - Claire's was so much prettier and more flattering.

I also have trouble believing that her and Phillipe's marriage is anything more than an arranged one. She was way too young and he was too old when they started dating, then got married for me to think it was all about love.

I have noticed that! In a matter of fact, it's the first thing I noticed.

I really don't think that she's all that and I don't get why people like her so much. She's boring as hell and has no personality.

I also suspect it was pretty much an "arranged marriage" and they just got lucky and liked each other more than, say, Charles and Diana.

I disagree with everyone...this woman is the real deal. She is perfect for the role of princess, probably more suited to this life than Letizia or Mary. I think she is probably the best example of a modern royal there is.
