Crown Princess Mathilde (Belgium)

She is perfect for the role of princess, probably more suited to this life than Letizia or Mary. I think she is probably the best example of a modern royal there is.

Good. Can you give some reasons for why you think this?

I don't know what the royal house in Belgium is like and don't know a lot about the country. Maybe she *is* ideally suited for royal life. It could be the rest of us are driven into ADD by Star and US Weekly and just can't cope when there's no scandal to be had. Still, she seems bland and boring. Kind of like she has no personality. I'm just not all that impressed w/ her.

Mathilde's been in Mali for the past few days and the people over at the GREMB are having epileptic fits about how great she is. They go on and on and on about her, like she's some kind of fricking goddess.
I'm sure she's very nice and very sweet, but what in the world is sooooooooo special OMG LOL about her? Can someone explain to me?

She's not that special - and I'm to the point where I can't read the threads about her on GREMB b/c i'm overcome by the urge to vomit. There's one poster in particular ("Lauren") that posts there who drives me absolutely insane.

As for Mathilde, she's fine - good for her for doing the charity work that most crown princesses do. There's nothing she does that anyone else doesn't. I can understand having a personal preference for her (just like I prefer Mary), but it's weird to go psycho insisting she's the greatest person who ever lived.

I was hoping we would get a pic of Mathilde and Laura together when the Busheviks were in Belgium. I wanted to make "Welcome to Stepford" wallpaper.

You know, Maxima is in Africa this week and in the pics she looks like hell, big and pregnant, but she also looks warm, and interested and involved. Mathilde always looks like she is afraid someone might mess up her Natan.

I find Maxima a lot more warm and involved than Mathilde. I also much prefer Mary to Mathilde. Mathilde's just so dull and unspectacular. I don't get why people are always on about her charity work. Isn't that what royal family members are supposed to do? I don't see her doing anything different than what any of the other crown princesses do.

She comes off as dull and without a personality. She also has a really big forehead.

I was extremely surprised when I found out the news this morning...It's not like Britney's case
And I recently saw pictures of Mathilde in Mali...No clue about the pregnancy at that time.

Maybe it will be a surprise like this for other princesses? *cough*Mary*cough* Letizia*...

Mathilde just seems to be an automaton. At least with Mette-Marit, Mary, and Maxima, they seem to have personality. There's just a lifeless quality to Mathilde.

That, and her husband is supposed to be a boob.
