The murder/cheating song could work with the right singer, but she ain't it. Her enunciation on that song is atrocious. Lord, girl, find a consonant. And does she ever sing live? The only times I've ever seen her sing on tv, she's lip synced.

The "S.O.S" video makes me sad. The part where she's wearing tiny shorts and the male dancers put their hands all over her ass as she dances-what is she, 16? 17? It's just pervy. I guess most music videos today are kinda pervy but for some reason I just hate seeing that one.
"Unfaithful" is a terrible song. It is so dull! My brother loves it and listens to it over and over. Of course, he also likes Paris Hilton's single.

I have both Pon de Replay and SOS on my player which I use when exercising. They both get me going when I feel like slacking.
This is a terrible admission but if Paris Hilton's song could get my butt in gear, I'd download it too. I'm easy when it comes to motivating pop trash.

I guess most music videos today are kinda pervy but for some reason I just hate seeing that one. I know! When I first saw that video I thought she had to be in her twenties because the whole concept seemed so *adult.* But then to hear that she's only 18 yet she's hooching it up in a video like that? Makes me feel old and condemnatory. Also makes me think that she and JayZ definitely have/had a thing going on - the story I heard was that as soon as she walked in the room JayZ said "oh yeah, she'll be a star." Sounds like he was real interested in her singing talents.

The word from the Caribbean is...... yeah, she's not only Beyonce-Lite song-wise, but also JayZ-wise as well. She caught JayZ's eye at some talent show in Barbados. It was her final year in high school and word is she never graduated, leaving school for "fame and fortune". In less than 6 months or so her album was ready. Further speculation is that the songs are all Beyonce rejects. And no, her hair is not her own. (As if there was any doubt)
Of course she drives most of us crazy by attempting to foster some IslandGurl persona thing, while singing music that has nothing to do with the region or culture she is from. Grrr..

She's on The View right now singing her murderer song. She seems to be singing live. If so, her voice isn't bad.

I don't think Unfaithful is about murder. It is a ridiculous record, though. "I don't wanna doooo this anymore"- then don't! I haven't been this irritated with the content of a hit song since Cater 2 U.
I think she's pretty but I think I'm the only person who thought Pon De Replay was boring the 1st time I heard it and boring the 2985859393 time I heard it. She was interviewed on Richard And Judy here in the UK a couple of weeks ago and I was surprised how candid she was; she was asked if she ever got to see her friends/family etc post success and she basically said she hasn't had a decent conversation with either in 18 months and that it gets her down a lot. Not in a self pitying way, she was very matter of fact about it, but made me feel quite sorry for her, I mean is she even 18 yet?
That said I can't stand her singing voice. She is unbelievably flat.

Yeah it's about her being a murderer in the sense that- her cheating on her boyfriend is killing him. It's lame.

I saw her on the View, she said that a friend of hers on Barbados was friends with a "certain record producer" (I swear she said it like that) who was married to an American woman and vacationing there and her friend introduced them and she sand and he was like, 'your going to be a star.' So she went to NY and spent a year doing demo's and they sent them out to a bunch of producers and Whallah! Jay-Z was all into it and took her on. She also said that she is interested in all kinds of music and this album really reflects that.
That being said, she is very limited in vocal range and style. The song she sang seemed live to me but it was sung exactly like the single that gets radio play. I think she will get by but she is no big star in the making. Her look, music and everything else are a mish mash of every other young singer- Ashanti, Beyonce, Smantha Mumba- well, ok that's all I could think of but you know what I mean.
