From the upcoming Rocky Balboa film which just finished production, to plans for a geriatric Rambo IV, to excessive plastic surgery and so much more. By the way, plastic surgery seems to run in the family as evidenced by this photo of his mother.

However, I was very impressed to read something Brookie posted in the John Travolta thread. Apparently, Sly has an autistic child, campaigns to raise public awareness of autism, and has spoken out against what he (and others) "perceive as Travolta’s “denial” stemming from Scientology’s rabid hatred of psychiatry and judgment of those with psychological problems as lesser humans responsible for their own maladies."

Go Rambo, get those Scieno freaks!

I don't really have much to say about his films, but if he's trying to improve awareness of autism and objects to the way the scienos view it, that's a very good thing.

I had no idea he has an autistic child, but I haven't read anything about him in years. I've seen his mother pop up on the odd celeb show though. ::shudder::

As for his child's autism, I found this tidbit:

With his first wife Sasha, Stallone had two sons, Sage (who is launching his own acting career) and Seargeoh, the second of whom was diagnosed as autistic in 1982. The stress of the situation caused Stallone's marriage to end in 1985. Afterwards, Stallone began dating many women and became a favorite topic of the tabloids, especially when less than a year after the breakup, he married statuesque model Brigitte Nielsen and then divorced her in a well-publicized battle 18 months later. In the late '80s, Stallone met 19-year-old model Jennifer Flavin. The two lived together for three years and married in May, 1997. By summer's end, they had a baby girl, Sofia, who was born with a hole in her heart. In October it was repaired and the now healthy girl has proven to be a fighter, just like her famous dad.

I feel badly for him having not one, but two, very sick children. But what sort of name is Seargeoh?!

I think he's talented. As an actor, I think he's super in "Copland" and an old fun movie called "Nighthawks."

As a person, I think he's an asshat, no matter what he's done to raise awareness for autism. The stress of his son's illness didn't break up his first marriage - he was screwing around big time. There's a famous underground tape of him giving instructions to a girl while she's blowing him in his trailer. It's gross, especially in that deep, dopey voice of his. And the first time he broke up with Jennifer Flavin, he did it by fax. So yeah, I hope he beats the clams into pulp, but I still think he's an ass.

I can't remember for sure, but I know she claimed to be psychic and the 'xeroxes of people's butts' is ringing a bell. Though I wouldn't think I'd be able to forget that!

It's okay, Kafka. I knew she was looking bad but I didn't expect her to look that bad. But I can see the Jackie Collins resemblance too.

Back on topic, I'm glad Sylvester's daughter, Sofia, is okay. How horrible for all the family.

Charming. Frankly, I'm not all that surprised by these tidbits about him. I was surprised that he did anything worthwhile to begin with, like the autism and anti-Scientology stuff. As I said in the beginning, so much to snark about, so little time.

Oh, yes she is! It was a very old episode of The Daily Show. It may have even been in the Craig Kilborn days.

Thanks to Sly Stallone, we have a movie about arm wrestling. I think that's something to put in an obituary: "Without him, we would have have known of the struggles of the arm wrestler in America."

I've always wondered if steriod use has any effect on the quality of sperm or something. Two of Stallone's kids were born with illnesses, and it seems like quite a few NFL players have sick kids as well. Didn't Sly himself have heart surgery not too long ago?
